I had to reply shortly after you rant about storage space.
Everything you said in regards how it would destroy D2… is strictly related to how a bot famer would look at it.
Yeah look at the current D2 economy and say…This is fine.
It’s a damn joke that breeds bots. And you know it.
One day I’d like to legitimate build an enigma within a month, during a ladder season at /p1, without trading, while maintaining a f’ing life.
Instead of watching people who traded with bot farms or bought their crap from jsp, etc having all the fun.
News flash, running crap 5,000 times isn’t healthy, shouldn’t be required.
Let JSP die so this game can become fun for regular people with lives.
BTW. Some advice directly for blizzard.
You want people to move on from Diablo 2? Don’t make them farm for eternity. Let them get bored and move on from it. The more time everyone spends here farming for their engima, the less time they have to try a rotation on 3 or 4, or anything else for that matter.
Anymore. I have maybe 2 weeks of interest for diablo 2 these days. Just enough to leave dissappointed by the drop system.
This doesn’t make sense… So you’re saying that the farming is so fun people won’t move on? So then, you want to make the game more boring so people can rotate games?
Sounds like you just made the case that D2 already has an excellent blueprint.
This is exactly the type of change people don’t want for this game. Lots of us don’t want to be on a constant rotation with other games because you max everything out so fast and have BIS gear. Accomplishing everything in any game in a couple weeks sounds sad.
The large majority of my content is Diablo 2 videos
Out of 3140 videos, over 2000 of those are Diablo 2
No they haven’t, they make changes to the game that are ultimately worse than the vanilla content. They change things without any regard for balance or how it affects the core engine of the game because they feel like it.
Changes that are good, like gem stacking, rune stacking ect. Make it in eventually anyway with or without modders.
Again one of the main issues in D2R with increasing inventory space is it directly affects the Core of the game The PRNG Calculations. Which in turn Directly changes the game experience.
Item count is a variable used in Diablo 2’s core engine to determine everything.
This includes but is not limited to, item drops, item stats, monster types, monster names, monster spawn positions, monster powers, poppables locations, chest locations, super cheat locations, whether a cheat is locked or unlocked, and more
Basically the entire ARPG Industry was spawned from Diablo 2
Diablo 2 is considered the mother of all ARPG’s
Most of not all of the ARPG’S that tried to copy D2 failed to capture what made it special.
When they fail to reproduce what made D2R special, what makes you so sure you won’t accidentally ruin what made D2R so special with all your changes?
Yup many mods became games.
Some mods even got incorporated into the base game by the devs.
But many mods are also just cheats in disguise.
Knowing the difference is important
Typical change for the sake of change comment.
I would rather be a D2R Purist than someone who destroys the game with terrible ideas.
But the truth is I am not even a diablo Purist, your just an extremist. You want to change everything so badly that anyone even level headed people who just don’t want to destroy the game they love look like “Purists” to you.
D2 Purists Don’t even play D2R, that’s a real Purist.
I love D2R I think they made just about every change possible without ruining the game and made D2R a better game. Is there still some more that could be done? Yes and me and several other Content creators have been working on a list of those changes that still need to be made to submit to Blizzard.
D2 Purists are still back playing D2 Lod and refuse to give D2R a try.
Some of them refuse to play anything past 1.09
You sling around words like D2 purist, when you have no clue what it means.
I like GGM, seems like a solid dude and someone I’d probably hang with. People are way too bent out of shape complaining just to complain, attacking people because they’re mad about their own lives. Keep doing you bro, people obviously enjoy your ideas and mindset, and you aren’t trying to destroy something that is a masterpiece.
Lol not really
It’s not really putting somebody back to its place to repeat purist non-sensical talking points in a place where almost everybody with at least 2 ounces of logic left a long time ago, driven away by nostalgic lunatics
He can spew his lies all he wants but the numbers are there, his D2R view and going down and the popularity of the game is tanking, all thanks to the assistance of purists in the murder of the game by blizzard through stagnation
You buy a remaster of a game that you obviously don’t like hoping that Blizzard will unleash a flood of massive changes that twist it into an amalgamation of your favorite modern games and mods. You are seeking a new game through an old game. If you want a new coat of paint on your game every few weeks, go play a subscription based game.
Lol that’s what we do on live streams, we just hang out having fun.
Yeah I have seen some of his ideas, short sighted at best.
He doesn’t know enough about the game to fully understand how the changes he wants would effect the game.
I am still learning, there is so much more to discover about Diablo 2 and how it functions. The way the Psuedo Number Generator is tied directly into how you play the game is vast and interesting to explore. I still have so much more to discover there. But I know enough to see the flaws in what he wants.
If he took the time to actually learn about the game he might even come up with brilliant ideas.
But he’s the epitomy of can’t see the forest for the trees.
Wait what? You referred to D2:R as a Remaster. Is it a sign that the truth is starting to sink in?
Remaster
"A port that contains a great deal of remade assets may sometimes be considered a remaster or a partial remake, although video game publishers are not always clear on the distinction. DuckTales: Remastered for example uses the term “Remastered” to distinguish itself from the original NES game it was based on, even though it is a clean-slate remake with a different engine and assets. Compared to a port which is typically released in the same era as the original, a remaster is done years or decades after the original in order to take advantage of generation technological improvements (the latter which a port avoids doing). Unlike a remake which often changes the now-dated gameplay, a remaster is very faithful to the original in that aspect (in order to appeal to that nostalgic audience) while permitting only a limited number of gameplay tweaks for the sake of convenience."
If you don’t consider yourself part of that nostalgic audience, why do you keep punishing yourself by not moving on?
Diablo II, Diablo II LoD, and Diablo II Resurrected can all be played offline.
This means you have no real clue how many people are currently playing.
Also D2R and basically any game that has seasons, sees rises and falls with the start and end of each season. Displayed as spikes on your graph.
As the interest increases at the beginning of the season and dies towards the end.
We are currently at the end of a season and the numbers are low because of that.
Also diablo 2 is a evergreen title.
Evergreen titles get overshadowed by recent releases. But they always come back to evergreen titles.
Black Myth Wukong for instance was a recent release, played it beat it moved on.
Diablo 4 VoH is a recent release and has garnered much attention.
There is also PoE 2 coming in December
However season 9 for diablo 2 resurrected is coming.
Games like Diablo II never die, they do get put on the shelf from time to time. But they are never forgotten. And we always come back.
As a content creator, and as a gamer I am interested in the recent releases too.
But in the end I know I will always come back to D2R =}
I look forward, and I look backwards.
Because those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.
I will always have an advantage over you when it comes to making Changes to Diablo II Resurrected. Because I am actually taking the time to learn everything I can about the game in order to make the best changes I can.
Your not willing to learn, and that’s why you will just destroy the game for the sake of progress.
Lol you seem so interested in the health of my channel.
Let me let you in on a secret, archival Content doesn’t really care about views.
Again we are back to you can’t see the forest for the trees.
When user A finds a Desthspade and searches for information on it, I have it.
They find my video in the number one spot on Google and watch my video. They then either enjoy the content or not, likely subscribing and watching more of my videos.
The Desthspade video is Never going to be more popular than say the Grief Video, or the Infinity Video.
But it’s there because archival requires all content be catalogued not just the ones that have good views. This is a completely different approach than most content creators use. Because most content creators wouldn’t deem Snakecord worthy of a Video.
So yeah I even have a Video on “Snakecord” one of the worst items in Diablo 2 lol
And it has a whopping 1.5k Views in 2 years, is that really surprising though? It’s a crap item, that most people can tell is crap without help.
Meanwhile “Infinity” has 35,000 & 14,000 & 9,800 Views a much more popular item
However I still make Important videos too like most content creators so likey Infinite Ber Rune Video (137,000 Views)
Or my Top 10 sets (147,000)
Or Top 10 Worst Uniques (74,000)
What you Demonstrate time and time again Anu is that you only look at the surface without any real understanding of what’s going on.
Also, choosing a name like “Anu” the god of The Diablo franchise is incredibly Egotistical, as if to say you know it all and have all the answers. But you demonstrate time and time again you don’t know it all, you don’t have all the answers, and you make a lot of mistakes based on incomplete information.
I definitely don’t have all the answers, but what I do have is a hunger to learn, and share the knowledge I learn.
Do you have any other ad hominem attacks?
Since you sincerely seem to lack knowledge on these kinds of things let me educate you.
“An ad hominem attack is a type of argument that attacks the person making the argument instead of the argument itself. The term comes from the Latin phrase ad hominem, which means “against the person”.”
Every time you get proven wrong you move towards personal attacks. It’s really quite tiring.
Let’s see, so far you tried to insult me by calling me a “Purist”, then you insulted me by calling me a liar, then you insulted me by attacking my channel, When that didn’t work you tried to insult my channel again, when that did work you tried to insult my channel again again, lol oh and let’s not forget you also just called the entire Diablo 2 Player base a dying game as you put it? Lol
I hate to ruin your narrative, but Diablo 2 has survived for 24 years, that’s nearly 2.5 decades. It’s probably going to outlive both of us.
I wonder if I go through you 3,800+ posts how many of them are of you just insulting people without actually debating the topic?
Probably 50-60%?
Oh look
Lol that was like me barely glancing at your comments.
Funny I see you got a temp ban too for this very thing not a surprise.
