i used to play 8-12 hrs a day in 7-9man terrorized zone teams and could expect a sunder every day or 2, i have now gone roughly 5 days of playing in extremely hard massive teams to boost my odds running between 0-400% mf testing different magic find threshholds and NOT. A. SINGLE. DROP. is this because of the recent patch? i heard a patch was making them harder to get but this is beyond a piss take my favourite thing to do in the game to earn a couple jah runes is completely ruined i just cbfd playing anymore now…will they fix this or am i hunting them wrong?
I have(before 2 days patch) farmed about 250 hearalds in total, I have gotten 3 sunders.
I always use ws shard for act 1 And 2, and normally stay in the same game until I have between 20-35 hearald kills.
Killing tier 1-3/4 hearalds is mostly useless, it’s bingo. You need to kill as many tier 5 hearalds as possible.
I theory you should get 1 sunder per 50 ish + tier 5 hearalds kill…(i have not, i guess i am unlucky) and player count or MF dose not effect sunder charm drop from the hearlds special drop pool. And they just reduced the effect of MF on sunders in general.
i only kill tier 5 heralds, so really team size means nothing??? higher magic find is LOWER chance to get sunder?? also noticed the heralds barely even spawn now this is just aids..il get 2 heralds at best by time im at andariel solo
No higher mF is not lower chance, it just dose not affect sunder charm drop from hearals special drop pool.(hearalds have normal drop pool and special drop pool same as some other mobs in the game)
Before this patch sunder charms that dropped from the normal drop pool from any monster in the game, like adariel for example, if you stacked MF it would give alot better chance for unique charms to drop, now sunder have had the effect of MF lowered. So it’s harder to get sunder from the normal drop pool from monsters.
This means hearals is the best way always now to get sunder. And you don’t need MF or more players for this. They have almost no effect
To spawn hearalds you need to clear a zone. After 60% of mobs ar dead, hearalds has alot better chance to spawn.
And once 1 hearald has spawned I the zone you are clearing(unless it was early it spawned) just move on to the next zone, the chance for 2 hearalds to spawn in the same zone, is small.
Also some zones are good for spawning, some are terrible… You should look in to this.
are blizzard ever gonna fix these worthless servers or make it so YOU chose when a game expires not to lose your progress?? ive really had a gutsful of this
I can’t say I have any server issues. so i dont know.(sorry to hear that, you have)
I make a game, popp World stone shards for act 1 and 2, some times i do act 4 also. then i stay in the same game for many hours and clear most areas, no issues.
I take my time, and i am not speed running, some times i do the TZ that is active for 30 min, if its a zone i like.
by zone you mean like the sub areas of an act? i.e cold plains and stony field are different zones?
yes that is correct. ![]()
Mf and player count doesnt rly matter much when farming heralds.
Farming heralds on p8 used to be a bad idea because they didn’t drop good stuff other than sunders, and those didn’t benefit from MF or players
Now heralds drop better loot supposedly, so they will benefit more from mf and players now, but just not for sunders
And they reduced mf affecting sunder drop chance while increasing mf affecting gheeds for regular monsters. Meaning more gheeds from regular monsters and refocusing on sunders from heralds.
playing solo doesnt seem to make a difference either -.-
Unfortunately the herald system has been a bust. There was one time in PTR that they were worthwhile but they were basically loot goblins then. During ladders they’ve been bone dry with their drops.
If you have all day to sit in a full TZ game then you have to keep farming hoping for T5 heralds and hoping they drop something.
D2 is supposed to be about drop in drop out gameplay, not sitting in a game all day. This blizz team has no idea what they’re doing.
Last few days of the season they weren’t dropping sunders either, and I haven’t seen one since patch either. Mostly T5s as I’m not doing short runs until I know if shards will still be sustainable post-patch. Unfortunately, will still be trying to get them as I still need a few more -light res ones.
They changed the impact of mf and p8 so teams wouldnt have a huge advantage. I havnt tried since the last patch but it was around 1 sunder in about 50 t5 heralds in ladder.
Should be the same now as they didnt change the sunder droprate. They only improved the droprate of higher quality items on heralds.
