Goodbye to the D2 Amazon community

Here it is. How I took down ubers with my pure bowazon.

Gear

  • Bow: Faith (or your main bow), upped Riphook socketed with Shael, Harmony Matriarchal Bow
  • Helm: Gface socketed with IAS jewel (ideally damage/IAS jewel)
  • Body: Fortitude, Rattle Cage socketed with IAS jewel (ideally damage/IAS jewel)
  • Gloves: Cleglaw’s
  • Belt: Noscoil, Tgods
  • Boots: Gores
  • Rings: Ravenfrost, Leech ring (mana leech)
  • Amulet: Atma’s, Rising Sun
  • Charms: Max damage charms, 6 or more +1 passive charms, make sure you have enough resist charms for lightning, poison, fire

Skills

  • 20 valkyrie
  • 20 decoy
  • 20 guided arrow
  • 5 strafe
  • 10+ magic arrow

Stats

  • Str/Dex: Enough to wear gear, plus maybe a bit more into dexterity for more damage (I think I went 200 dex)
  • Vit: The rest

Preparation:

  • You will need a respec to spec into this build above
  • Make sure you have Mauler’s in Durance of Hate waypoint
  • Make sure you have Urdar’s in River of Flame waypoint
  • Make sure everything is repaired and stocked
  • Make sure you have a lot of cash (400k+)
  • Ideally have another respec token on stand by to reset your bowazon back to before

The Ubers:

Duriel

Use your main bow and gear fit out as usual, but use Gface + Gores + Atma’s.

Find him and try to isolate him. Use valkyrie + decoy to hold him down and just use guided arrow. Switch to some passive charms if your valkyrie can’t keep up (use harmony to cast your valk). Should be pretty straight forward.

Izual

Work your way through to him, place decoy near by you, get distance from him but not too far away as that will provoke him to teleport near you again. Otherwise should be pretty straight forward.

Lilith

Work your way through to her. If you see her, go to town and do your first major gear swap:

  • Switch to all your passive charms
  • Switch to Riphook, Rattle Cage, Cleglaws
  • Stock up on enough life potions and arrows
  • Make sure your poison resists are maxed
  • Get some antidote potions and drink them before fighting

Jump back into your TP and hold her down with valkyrie and decoy as much as you can while using guided arrow. Time your valkyrie and decoy casts to not get hit by the poison clouds and cast your valkyrie 3 steps apart from Lilith to buy a bit of time each cast.

Oh your merc is going to die no matter what you do.

But whatever you do, make sure you constantly attack Lilith, otherwise she will regenerate her health quickly.

If you’re struggling, try going to River of Flame and then revive some Urdars with your harmony. Urdars have crushing blow and can also tank some hits from Lilith so you can wail on her with guided arrow as much as you can. Make sure you don’t weapon switch back to Riphook while revives are active.

Side note for other belt choices: you could try using arach’s just to improve your FCR a bit for the valkyrie/decoy casting and for the +1 skills. Haven’t tried it, haven’t needed it, but it might help.

Mephisto

Before entering Uber Tristram:

  • Switch to Tgods
  • Stock up on enough life potions and arrows
  • Make sure your lightining resists are maxed or even stacked a bit

In Uber Tristram, try and drag Mephisto out. Approach from the North or North West side towards the centre of town, retreat when he notices you, then drag him towards the red portal but slightly further up north.

Once in town again, get 1 TP scroll and put in belt slot 4. go to Durance of Hate and revive some Mauler’s. These are similar to Urdars but are also immune to lightining. Summon about 8 Maulers or as many as you can up to that number.

Make the TP to go back to act 3 town, take the way point back to act 5 and then go back through the red portal.

Once through the red portal, get all the Maulers to jump onto Mephisto, try and proc amp damage on Mephisto with guided arrow, then kill any of Mephisto’s minions with Strafe/Magic arrow to prevent Maulers from getting distracted. Make sure you don’t weapon switch back to Riphook while revives are active. Avoid attacks, stay just out of range of his conviction aura where possible and drink potions. Use guided arrow until Mephisto is dead.

After killing Mephisto:

  • Switch to Rising Sun
  • Stock up on enough life potions and arrows
  • Try and get your fire and cold resists up
  • Get 1 or 2 columns of mana pots for Baal

Baal

Drag Baal out. Approach from the South West side where Grizzy normally spawns in normal Tristram. If you still have your Maulers, you will likely find that they will constantly get disbursed by Baal’s cold wave so they provide limited use beyond tanking shots for you.

Fortunately, the dark lords that Baal spawns will heal you.

Try and distract Baal and his minions (especially the ghosts) with your valkyrie and decoy and keep positioning yourself and kite to shoot guided arrow onto him. Also, position your decoy between you and Baal so that you don’t constantly get hit by Baal’s chilling armour bolts. Lastly, avoid Baal’s mana drain attacks. Having enough mana and arrows is going to keep you in this fight.

After killing Baal:

  • Stock up on enough life potions and arrows
  • Try and get your fire and lightning resists up

Diablo

Drag Diablo out. Approach from any side you feel comfortable, though I recommend fighting Diablo close to the red portal for quicker restocking and quicker large charm pickup (if you have a hell fire torch already).

He may use his bone prison on you, just strafe out of this when this happens.

Try and distract Diablo and his minions with your valkyrie and decoy. Ideally the venom lords just use their inferno attacks on you and don’t swing at you, otherwise it should be a relatively safe fight, just avoid melee range. You should be able to tank both Diablo’s fire storm and his lightning hose.

With a bit of patience, take down Diablo with guided arrow.
