Gonna say it. Immortal looks decent

I played through the intro and 5 minutes or so after that. Maybe I’ll try it more later, but it’s really just a worse D3 graphically and gameplay wise.

Just makes it an even bigger shame they abandoned the second D3 expansion to put all their effort into this mobile cash grab.

We could have had more D3 content, PvP modes in D3 etc. Instead we have this. Ugh.

I think it plays very well. Using a Razor Tartarus. I can’t imagine keyboard being a problem. Pretty much as expected. Feels like Lost Ark meets D3 to me. But it looks like the paywall is going to hit hard. Will play until that happens.

What we need is a port of DI to the Game Boy Advance.

The game is literally a full blown copy paste of D3, literally everything is the same.

I unsubbed all my Blizzard accounts after I played the tutorial, that is how impressed I was.

maybe teach your kids better

I don’t like the no tooltips on mouseover. You have to go deeper into the item to see it. I don’t like being told “This one is better.” Maybe I need more stamina than intellect. I know it was just the tutorial through Westmarch, but that was enough. And then 100 people are in my game after talking to Cain? No thanks. I don’t want to be looking for things to kill in a saturated area. I’d go play wow if I did.

Well games like this are very predatory and kids don’t have as good as impulse control as most adults. Even many adults don’t have that capability. It preys on the psychologically weak in that area.

you can say that about anything

next
let’s not make candy
kids are going to steal there parents credit card
so they can get it

It seems ok-ish so far. Just hit level 11. Not a fan of no right click skills so far, everything being a key outside of primary attack. UI is taking some time to get used to. Just like D3, flashing popups for every time something new unlocks, especially the daily awards. Just feels awkward since I have not played D3 since mid last year.

Probably won’t bother with end game, just finish the story. But it’s early yet.

I ended up binding multishot to right click. Feels a lot better.

i would bought it and tried it if it was a normal game for pc.

in not touching micro-transactions with a 39.5 foot pole

if i wasn’t already ashamed of my countries politicians for a billion other things; not banning micro-transactions in game would be the reason… for now, its just the 1 billion and first.

Yeah this stuff needs to be outlawed.

Ahh, so you can bind to right click. I may play more with the controls later. Playing Crusader myself.

So far, it really is just a normal game. No loss in trying out a free game, especially for story.

Its the game no one wanted.

Suspect this is the direction they’ll go for diablo IV, you’ll need a microtransaction to unlock deckard cain’s beard and your stash

i mean they released it with 6 classes and only 5 character slots.

they are so scummy greedy.

Diablo Immortal is a crime against gaming humanity, it’s hot garbage across the board and I steadfastly refuse to accept this game into the Diablo universe, because Diablo fans deserve so much better.

For a start, excessive microtransactions and before anyone asks or tries to refute, it is P2W whether you try to argue or not, some of the changes with gems just make it slightly less so…just grindy but that is somewhat par for Diablo but that still doesn’t give it a pass. If you are a FP you can ‘play’ but you’ll never be on the same playing field as a whale, not even close.

Graphics are awful, brightness felt like it was dialed up to 9000 especially red - I took a screen shot of one of the bosses and it was just two colors, red and black - it was a cursed image. I think this is probably due to multiple reasons such as optimization for a high-end PC vs a smartphone because it just looks bad on my HDR monitor, even with that turned off it wasn’t much better, graphics are so bright gives me a migraine.

Cursed Diablo Immortal graphics

Controls are pretty bad, feels like a controller is a necessity yet I couldn’t use my xbox 360 controller at all, two buttons worked and that was it. Nothing wrong with my controller at all either, so this game has some issue that needs to be worked out, mouse/keyboard would be ideal but considering everything is zoomed in and since you need to be constantly moving, during boss battles if you get stuck on scenery then that can be a death sentence, far too easy to get stuck or misclick during intense fights especially in rooms/areas that are clearly designed to restrict your movement.

Unnecessarily difficult, bosses DO not need multiple HP bars - you shouldn’t have to kill a boss 5 times over, oh boss has 5,000hp? should be easy enough get it to 0, it regens back to 5,000 and drops a few HP orbs…rinse and repeat multiple times because each boss has /// stacks to indicate how many life bars it really has, so a boss looks like its got 5,000 hp…in actual reality its got like 30,000 and that trend keeps going and gets worse and worse, HP orbs are also pretty rare too, and given the fact that I haven’t seen anything that gives you life leech…and you only have 3 potions that slowly regenerate over time, this game literally keeps you on a leash at all times which literally kinder defeats what a diablo game is about.

Bosses are cheap, either by doing massive amounts of damage, shooting through walls or having unblockable/undodgable attacks, especially casters like Skeletal mage which shoots through walls and fires a D3 style disintegration attack frequently that can hit you off screen and at a fairly long distance, not to mention homing energy bolts - this boss was just annoying and unnecessarily difficult and just gets worse.

I could go on and on with immortals problems, I’ll guarantee 100% tomorrow it’ll be metabombed and once again, show a massive disparity from gaming journalism and user reviews, simply put ~ this needed lots more work, needed to be less egregious with the microtransactions and less broken content.

looks and plays like a cheap game from 2010 but with battle passes and predatory gacha cash shop design. problem is, newer generations grew up with p2w being the norm so they have no problem with this while i as an old guy think it’s quite disgusting. that said, i predict it to be a hit, people expect low effort phone games like this so they’ll eat it up like candy and call it the greatest thing ever. how depressing. i expect d4 will be put on the back burner so blizz can make more terrible phone games like this. calling it now.

i disagree, it’ll be dead game in a couple weeks, massive changes loot boxes and RMT to try and save it, lots of cope from the whales, blizzard pretending it was a success since they fleeced the whales enough for a profit margin. Bots will be ignored, massive multiboxing bot programs will start to pop up in a few weeks, game will seem populated, but 70% will be bots. Huge win for blizzard.

one whale can make up for 1000s of F2P players, blizzard knows exactly the market they are going for rich impatient people. it’ll be a hit since those types are the norm, not the exception.
