Give me your mf runs/tips - cause im lost

Well with 380 and that many runs. You found stuff. So the question is what sre you actually looking for?

You dont just need higher mf%, you also need to kill as much as possible. Sorc is ok but I am convinced that a Mavs Frost Maiden is one of the easiest way to farm for high end gear. Nihlathak is not cold immune and his minions drop in seconds. You can easily clear WSK levels very quickly, even faster than hdin. Another good one is death sentry assassin.

There’s also:

d2. maxroll.gg (take out the space on the maxroll part)

More MF is fine as long as you have maximum kill speed for the build you’re running. Prioritize kill speed above MF gear, as the more pulls of the loot level, the more chances of loot to drop.

Please keep in mind that you ARE getting loot drops. Sets, Uniques, etc. all drop at various rates. You may not get the one you are looking for, but as long as you are getting those drops, you just have to keep at it. Different builds can farm different areas quickly. Currently I run a FOH pally to run pits and Chaos as they just murder mass groups of undead/demons very fast. He runs about 300% mf and kills very fast, and gets runs and uniques sets every couple of runs. Rarely do I get something I’m actually looking for, but as long as I see these things dropping, I know things are working correctly. Yes you can go thru massive dry spells (10+ runs or more of absolutely nothing in any noted category above dropping) and they suck, but that’s just part of the game. Keep at it and use the sites referenced to see which monsters in which areas drop the items you’re looking for at the highest chance possible.

500 is not a lot. I have killed Andy and Meph probably 1k times alone in Hell since I started this ladder.

It’s literally just stack MF and pull the level until you win.

I mean you can literally do 500 pindle runs in a day off tbh

I said i was doing trav just for gold… well just found a ber O_o … guess im not only doing this for gold now…

i had infinity after 5-6 days of ladder but i also found 2 jah in 3 days… soo… i dunno… i got pretty lucky, but only on the jahs, the rest of my luck has been lack luster. i guess a vex…

Trav/Meph combo is always good times farming Council. Can get quick runs in.

That’s the only way anyone gets enigma for the most part, yes.

Keep a tally of the number of runs you do and time yourself.

kill EVERYTHING not just the bosses. your odds are in the numbers, if you spin one roulette wheel vs if you spin 100 of them…you are more like to win on 1 of 100 than on only spinning 1. so kill everything.

in the 85 zones atleast. otherwise as high alvl as you can handle

Well, what I do is:

  1. Set as high PlayersX as I’m comfortably able to run, Players3 usually.
  2. Go to fight against a boss - Andariel|Diablo, Mephisto, Baal (order of preference) having equipped my DPS gear. By going to I mean kill stuff without skipping it(well, maybe River of Flame only)
  3. Just before killing the boss I teleport back to town and change gear to max MF - this raises my magic find from usual 350% to 579%
  4. I kill the boss, and thanks to playing on PlayersX I get six items, with an one unique at least most of the time. However, Mephisto and Baal drop poorly for me, for loot hunting I preffer to do Diablo and Baal.

Note however that famous PlayersX command needs to be demythified - super unique enemies, like Pindleskin, will always drop two items, and unique ones just one item no matter the players count. So for Pindleskin + Eldrith + Shenk run it might be more beneficial to play on Players1 but with as much +MF% as possible without affecting killing speed. However, if you do ex. a cow level Players3, or 5, or 7 is recommended, as it lowers significantly the chance of a common cow to drop nothing.

So, if you play online, my advice is - in solo games do Pindle+Shenk+Eldrith, and maybe Travincal council with a high MF gear. If there are 3 or 5 players in your game try to do Andariel/Diablo/Mefisto having DPS equipment, using the trick of swapping to MF gear just before killing the boss.

I will share most effective way in my opinio how to get stuff early I usualy use.

You start with one character which will have special purpose later on. It can be lighthning sorc for farming keys, it can be horker for travincal or smiter for uber tristram. You need to get that char to end of hell and then you will make your next MF char. Preferably blizzard or frozen orb sorc. I think frozen orb is best for playthrough.

Your goal is to get mephisto and keep running him on quest bug. You make game with your first char you made, leave and join with mf sorc who has quest open but cant complete it. You can also go ancient tunnels in same run and kill only elites and repeat. There is no way you wont fins some decent things eventualy on quest bugged mephisto.

Sometimes i join public game and click objects in full games in kurast. All objects. This will sustain me with gems, runes, jewels and charms. I sell better stufffor runes, rest for pgems and constantly reroll grand charms.

When you will have some equip you can focus your first char and hunt keys or runes or boths in fact if you have lightning sorc for example.

I usualy also have horker barb who is my final mf char when i have enigma.

take off your mf and put on power gear and clear cows for socket bases. ZERO mf, not 1%, not 20%, ZERO.

For MF go do Andariel in hell with the quest bugged. You’ll get the most items you need this way, Viperskin, shako, unique rings/ammys, arach’s, chanceguards, gheeds, occy, HoZ, ect.

For charms go do nightmare cows.

We don’t get them in 1 day. It is exceptional luck that happens once in a lifetime to some people. Those people show it off and you get the impression that it happens all the time to everyone.

The trick is just do enjoyable stuff instead of just going all crazy on efficiency. Find a build that you like to play, and just go clear the areas you like. I love just clearing all the act 3 jungle (except marsh if it has souls) and kurast and temples and act 5 plains on my magezon. Love clearing Halls of Pain & Vaught on my bone spear & CE necro. Love clearing all the durance and popping all the chests and stashes on my Meteorb sorc. I don’t care if I find amazing loot or not, it’s just satisfying gameplay and eventually i will find something.

Do the same but on p8

Why? Are you part of a community/“guild” and some sort of competition? Otherwise why do you play D2 so much? Even if you have nothing else to do, why not sleep when you need to (physically need to)?

Considering there are, potentially, thousands of other players, maybe bots too, why do you feel you got to give so much?

I started in oct last yr with a lite sorc farming keys, trading them up for runes and in turn for gear, along the way mf kicks in and dropped some still-alright uniques tradable for some runes.

As there were LOTS of people playing and trading theres always good HODL stuff that can be traded at good fantastic prices (e.g. bought 313 pdscs at 2 or 3 ists each, its about a sur now).

That said i got traded my first 2 bers to make infinity for 7 sojs (hard earned from trading and farming) and a pcomb lifer, and started farming baal/pindle/nih/diablo for exp and drops… Then i made a gf barb and did a ton of trav runs and some nice stuff too (including 2 bers).

Now i have a fully equipped sorc, barb, zon and summoner (all enigma’d) and dont know what to do now. If i had to restart now, i think ill go with barb zerker/horking over sorc.

For runes its always lower kurest/ world stone keep/trav etc. RNG is RNG. could be 1 run could be many. Best way to get over how rare they are is to kill densely packed mobs from act 3 on (in hell) or do cows(hell again)

Please ignore this Bravata guy, he is just trolling with this nonsense.

It’s a real thing…. You do realize a 4os eth thresher is worth a Lo rune right now…
