Game Creation cooldown is too much

I mean, D3 is the worst example you could give. You can’t even tag or name your games in this piece of @!#@. If you leave and join too quick you are even put in the same game over and over again. Now imagine in D2 some guy is afk in a old baal run game and players are constantly being joined to him. Unaware they keep teleporting to the throne room or wait in anticipation for someone to open a portal. It’s becoming an endless loop. Use your brain cells before suggesting something as stupid as this.
All we need is a filter and the cooldown removed.

Doesn’t matter if the servers are stable if you can’t get into games now, does it?

if you dont want to be social… solo\singleplayer is up your alley…
its called multiplayer… not parallel play

You might want to try having fun with mules. Solo. Yep, these game creation cooldowns can happen solo as well. They already did prior to yesterday’s change, but were slightly more tolerable (though no less annoying) at 30 seconds in between game creations. Now it’s double that. And should your attempt to create a game fail the first time? Oops, sorry, but you tried to create, so you get that timer regardless of whether or not you got into your own solo game.

As for single player mode (offline), it too has its own problems. Most notably the on again, off again problem with the validation token preventing you from launching offline mode because it thinks you haven’t been online in ≥30 days. That isn’t fixed either.

So we’re kind of scrwed up one way and down the other right now.

I play multiplayer so I can trade, play with friends, level fast and pvp. It doesn’t mean I want to constantly talk to people for a 2 minute baal run, smartass

There shouldn’t even be a compromise lmao. Drones these days…

Nobody, except the tech guys, know why the timer was implemented. We are just assuming that it is there to stabilize the servers which makes somewhat sense.
I’d rather have to extend my runs and clear countess, andariel and mephisto for example than sitting in front of a 4 hrs emergency maintenance. It might take longer to get the item you want / need but after all you are getting things done. I’d rather play the game then waiting for an update on twitter.

At this point it doesn’t matter what should or should not be. I doubt that they will ever explain in detail what the problems were even though i am curious. The recent patch notes paint the same picture with words like “various”,“numerous” or "miscellaneous ". We will most likely just get another PR text that doesn’t really explain anything.
I wish they would be more transparent like Coffee Stain (Satisfactory) or Square Enix (Final Fantasy XIV) but unfortunatly they are not and it doesn’t make me love Diablo 2 less.

I’m talking about the reality of the situation, not what should be expected. There’s a difference.

Trolls these days…

But… the servers… aren’t… stable… ?

Greedy company that forces staff to work with low-end servers and doesn’t want to invest in it.

I dont understand why ppl keeping looking at d3 as solves to this problem. D3 all in all was pretty much a fail as a diablo game(okay as an overall game). It was a fail in diablo franchise, imo because it pulled away from everything that d2 was. So pls pls pls stop suggesting d3 fixes in d2. If you like d3 i get it… go play that. Diablo 2 was a social free range lobby system, that was one of the best parts. Can we just know if this game isssue is temp or perm? If it is while they get servers in shape(should have been done already) fine. If it is going to be perm, why?

Where do you see the information about game creation cd’s?
It is not listed on any patch notes.
Which site gives out this info?

Obviously limiting games isn’t contributing much to server stability considering their servers are down again.

our team will be actively monitoring and reacting to the situation during peak play times and there may be periods where logins or game creation are limited

So I haven’t played in a day or so now. They put in a cooldown that starts when you attempt to join a game?

What kind of garbage brain rejects do they have working there? As I said before, if I was ever looking over a resume, and work history stated Blizzard or VV, I would immediately throw it in the trash.

How about a refresh game and all areas are refreshed, all monsters respawn, maps are re-generated, all ppl go back to town, all ppl stays in the same game. no need to create a new game name and avoid getting kicked out by “game is full” that would be lovely

Yeah this change appeared out of nowhere and with no notification yesterday or the day before.

It’s absolutely infuriating.
