Hi Diablo Team,
I’ve been a long-time fan of Blizzard’s work and have spent countless hours across all Diablo titles, but I have to be honest — Diablo 4 has been the most disappointing entry for me so far. Instead of repeating everything the bigger community voices and content creators have already highlighted about design and business direction I want to share a few specific improvements that, in my view as both a dedicated player and a dad, could really make a difference.
- World Tiers Expansion
The game UI clearly leaves room for it — please consider expanding world tiers beyond IV. Even scaling up to Tier VIII with tougher monsters and rewards would add much-needed long-term progression. The foundation is already there, it just feels like it stops too soon. There are 8 paragon boards to choose from, increase the current max 5. - Gear Scaling and Player Power
Gear should feel rewarding to chase. Diablo 3 nailed this for years, but in Diablo 4 the eternal realm becomes stale within 20–30 hours post-season. On top of that, the constant nerfs to anything that feels fun leave players frustrated. We need higher perk values, better scaling, and less punishing balance changes. - Special Events That Matter
Treasure goblins are iconic, but they’re far too rare. A proper goblin event (e.g. monthly) would be a simple but effective way to bring players back. I’m sure your own engagement data confirms that these events spike activity — because they’re fun. Diablo should lean into that more. - Respecting Different Play styles.
Not everyone can grind 12 hours a day. Many of us have families, jobs, and responsibilities, but we still want to slay demons and feel powerful. Eternal should include seasonal features, or at least not punish players who can’t keep up with seasonal grinds. Accessibility of fun content for all types of players is key to keeping a healthy base. - A Clearer, Sustainable Roadmap
The current roadmap feels like it’s burning out. Why not simplify? Add a new tier every quarter. Seasonal powers don’t need to be reinvented each time — let them carry over for two seasons if needed. We don’t care if names and colors change, we care about meaningful progression.
In short, yes I want diablo 3 in the diablo 4 skin. I want to have fun for next ten years with my mates and random folks online.
I know not all of this will happen, and maybe none of it will, but as a streamer and a fan I had to get this off my chest. If Diablo 4 doesn’t make bold adjustments by mid-next year, the timing will be rough with GTA on the horizon — and a lot of players (including myself) may be moving on for years.
I still want this game to succeed. Diablo is one of my favorite franchises of all time, and I hope you can find a way to make it shine again. Wishing you and the team strength for the challenges ahead.
Thanks for hearing me out,
Peter
