Firewall or Hydra as backup?

As tittle says, with around 40 points in the fire tree which one do you preffer ? multipurpose , boss killing and area clearing.

Single target damage seems similar on the 2 spells, where more targets involved firewall becomes better. But hydra autoapplies its dmg and fwall is more tricky to get the mobs into its full damage. Both of them have problems with fast moving targets, so it is difficult to decide a clear winner. Near fully invested in points prolly hydra is the better one, but that is not the case

My only problem with hydra is that it is not the best in Arcane Sanctuary as they can easily kill the ghosts when they are not over ground, so you can loose loot. It is safer option than FWall as you can put it far ahead, wait for it to kill every non fire immunes, then just move on. FWall I think has higher damage, but you need your merc to stop the mobs, then you can ignite the ground below them and it kills bosses pretty well and quickly. And not to forget that FWall has Warmth synergy that helps you a lot with regaining mana and based on the d2planner if you spend your skills evenly between Warmth and FMastery with adding point on Warmth first your damage will be higher than putting skills only on FMastery or Warmth only.
