Title: Failed to join game – online characters locked for 3+ weeks (PS5 + PC)
Platform: PS5 + PC
Issue:
I have been completely unable to join any online game in Diablo II: Resurrected for over 3 weeks. The character gets stuck on the loading screen or displays a “Failed to join game” error. This happens on both PS5 and PC.
Important: Offline characters work perfectly fine on both platforms. The issue is exclusively with online characters.
What I have tried:
- Full uninstall and reinstall on PS5
- Scan & Repair via Battle.net launcher on PC
- Switched region from Europe to Americas, created a temporary offline character, spawned in town, saved and exited, switched back to Europe – issue persists
- File SharedStashSoftCoreV2.d2i does not exist on my PC
- Waited 3+ weeks – no improvement
Conclusion:
Since offline characters work fine and the issue persists across two completely different platforms after a full reinstall, this is clearly a server-side issue. Blizzard support (ticket #104786590) has been unable to resolve it and directed me here.
Please investigate.
