For those who don’t know, if you add a jewel with enhanced damage and min or max damage to an armor it will negate any enhanced damage for the opposite. For example, if you add a 40ed + 15 max damage jewel to a helm the enhanced damage will only effect your minimum damage and vice versa. Another example would be if you add a plain ED jewel to armor with existing min/max modifiers, same rules apply to that.
This is a big problem for the Protectors stone jewel as it has both minimum and maximum damage modifiers, effectively there is no enhanced damage on this jewel due to this bug. Is there any plan to fix this ancient bug?

Of my +20 years of playing diablo 2, i’ve never heard of this bug until now once I realized the helm I put my protectors stone on wasn’t giving the enhanced damage! I’m PISSED!!!

Will the enhanced damage be calculated correctly if inserted into an offhand book such as the ars du mephisto?

Bump…as long as you play a WL with echoing strike, all that matters here is the -res, +xp, mf, goldand maybe fade…the other damage comes from wirts leg

hey guys, it would help if you posted some proof that it’s broken. i tested this bug about 4 years ago, and it was fixed in d2r.
i’m not saying that it’s not somehow broken once again, but you should test it and give them the proof if you really want it fixed, rather than assuming it’s broken, and asking them to test it. The less work they have to do, the better for them.
its broken on ROTW and expansion.
It only works on weapons.
-specific to protector jewel-
on off weapon (ex. diadem), ED does not apply on either side. Only the min and max damage applies.
ED bug background
On off weapons like diadems, shields and armors, only the damage side works.
For example, 30ed 10max was applied, then 10max applies to top damage and 30ed is ONLY applied to the minimum damage .
ED bug is not fixed
