Do we really want a pure remake?

Yes, I want a pure remake. As close to the original as possible while adding some minor QoL improvements. Only one of the things you suggested can be considered minor in my opinion.

  • I don’t think a loot filter is all that necessary in vanilla D2.

  • Big no from me to the charm inventory. It completely invalidates the trade-off for charms, which is the fact that you have to sacrifice inventory space for them. You have to choose whether a charm is worth the loss of space or not, makes you nitpick them more, which is great.

  • Why? Don’t hoard rune/gems aside from HR. If you’re one of those guys that farms 20 PRubys for Puls then you should be willing to sacrifice those 20 slots for it. I like that it keeps people from picking up every gem they see, otherwise it just dumbs down everything.

  • Again, no thanks. Anything that incentivizes just picking up whatever without thinking about it is a negative addition to the game. With smaller inventory/stash space you need to think about what you’re picking up and really decide what gear is worth keeping or not. This is vanilla, not PlugY.

  • I’m ok with the option, if enough people want it. I don’t really care, myself.

I also enjoyed these mods, but please, don’t try to turn D2R into them. All these “QoL” changes are way too significant and change the vanilla Diablo 2 experience into something entirely different. Suddenly you get all the good things without any of the bad, makes things pretty dull honestly. These features should be reserved for when the modding community jumps on and we get things like PoD:R or PD2:R.

You don’t seem to realize these mods had to rebalance things after implementing some of these changes, primarily thinking of the Charm Inventory.
