Thanks. Edited for clarity. Brain was thinking one thing, hands typed another.

i havent tested this yet… but… im not impressed with it.
no one asked for 99 to be made easier to reach.

we asked for QOL changes.
item filters, extra non charm inventory so we can pick up items
stackable runes and gems.
not some way to quickly reach 99.

It’s online only for right now. https://twitter.com/pezradar/status/1562859278406324225?s=21&t=mzALZdBHNcxAyxLafIl1Qg

Let’s not forget that melee ALWAYS has the short end of this stick, too. Because character level and target level plays a big part of how hitrates are calculated, the already slower melee builds will clear these areas at an additional reduced efficiency while the 3 (4 if you count FoH) main builds will cruse through most of this tougher content like it was nothing.

Edit: I’m not for nerfing those builds, but some dual light/magic immunes would be funny. Realistically I’d like the hit rate formula updated. There’s no reason why 15,000 attack rating only gives me a 60% chance to hit some monsters.

Guess we have to make him cry for a stackable currency stash :^)

I think it’s still nice that this is being done. Ofc I’m hoping for further updates and fixes in the future, and most importantly: more runewords. I just recently did some digging and turns out there are still dozens of declared runeword names, so there isn’t even a need to come up with new ones, they can just be drawn from that pool.

This is a massive flop.

Most people. Really don’t care about hitting 99, unless these terror zones are like 50x xp most of the time they are going to be ignored.

We need actual endgame content, portals to high end, hard content or something. Maybe similar to uber portals, might be hard to acquire the materials to open one, but make the rewards worth it. 5x mf/xp while you’re inside or something

We need new runewords that are actually viable that builds can be made around.

Need more skill balancing.

Stackable runes and gems are a massively needed.

Charm inventory would be nice.

This isn’t going to be enough to draw players back, people will play the start of a new ladder and fizzle out faster than the previous season. This game needs a proper shake up.

And I’m asking… where are the bigger stash and shared stash in Diablo Classic ( non-expansion)?

Blizz explains yourself!!

Disconnection delay is still 40seconds and the character is still in game. This is not about PC Instability issues or crashes. Please bring back delay to 8 seconds like it has been for 20 years. Or create a slider on the client side.

According to Blizzard motto "don’t fix something that is not broken”. Why did you change it Blizzard?
It’s harms long term Hardcore grind, people’s will to keep playing and by domino effect their social circle leaving the game.

8seconds was an appropriate and a fair delay providing the very quick way to die in D2. Nobody unplugs as cheat death in a game with instant heal, instant tp and leaving.
For 20 years, it’s been 8 seconds, else long term 99 grind is impossible in HC
D2 is not just a casual game played for the first weeks of the season.

Stop despising hardcore feedback, this has been said by many for months already.

No stacking crafting items OR currency stash tab = no play.

Can you elaborate on why it’s not ok?

Not going to sugar coat this, but I am disappointed after the Pez-Hype-Train! So, they have applied the DClone effect to an area once an hour … holy god what a feat. I really wanted more character slots and resource stack, especially runes. Getting XP quicker is nice but I believe a poll would have shown the community would have preferred stacking, stash tabs and character slots over this.

I gave up on HC (I only play D3 HC) because of mobs ambushing doors, Cow King portal spawns, latency between moving between floors. Too often I have woken up after passing through a door to a death.

This kind of stuff is getting close to the slipper slope IMO. I don’t want randomized thoughtless grind like D3 has. I’d honestly prefer brand new areas or an Act than have anything close to Rifts. This isn’t quite a Rift but it’s getting there. Awarding these Terror monsters with extra loot and experience is a terrible choice

I want none of the things you mention, i would gladly accept hourly theme park then qhat you said here

I’m pretty sure that what is shown in the character sheet does not consider some monsters (and all bosses) chance to block, so even when it says 90% it still feels like 60% a lot of the time.

I really like this new idea, but I think people are anxious to know if “this is it”? The reason why I ask this is because we were expecting new runewords. Personally, I like the current state of the game and the Onnnnnly thing I want to see added, like my brother and friends mentioned more than several times:::: the ability to purchase more storage. Only people that play seldom will tell things like: “just learn how to not hoard you silly (replace that word with a more harsh one)”, but… not only did I always hate the idea of “muling”, but offering the option to organize ourselves a little better would really help. Atm you’re basically forced to sell what you won’t use or let it collect dust in a dark corner your mind wants to forget about rather than actively compare it to the new stuff you find… never really giving your mind a chance to compare rares and see what’s good with direct access to other pieces of equipment. I, Personally, defend your position of “not wanting to create a stackable/materials tab” because it removes the feel and decorum of the game rendering runes and gems “worthless”. I wouldn’t mind choosing to keep either only flawless gems and pgems vs chipped gems or INVEST (free money for you) into having something to have a leisurely walk and feel good about every little bit I can get. I HATE tetris. If I loved it I’d probably have a memory of myself playing on a calculator and becoming friends with the “420numbnuts” in my class rather than actively find viable solutions to issues that affect us all. Problems that nobody tackles… Do this favor for everyone that has passion for this game… let them use their other character slots to play the game calmly without mental stress for touching mules filled with junk they’d have a hard time parting with since they Can’t compare them without a PHD in excel (I tried to have a spreadsheet for this and it’s an awful feeling the Moment you forget to update it…). Please… Implement that feature whether it be displayed Outside of the game or somewhere in the options. It would not only benefit everyone that actively plays this game, but it would also directly support your efforts to make the game better… win/win. Thank you for reading this!

You may purchase more storage by buying another account. Fixed.

Have to say, nothing in these patch notes impresses me.

Terror zones sound awful. They’re like a randomized version of a fourth difficulty without having to clear a1-a5 a fourth time, but also without the consistency of having a fourth difficulty.

Additionally, there were no changes to allow melee characters to compete with casters, given the loss of chance to hit with higher mlvls.

No new runewords?
No item balancing?
No new items?
No spell balancing or changes?

And most importantly, no Quality of Life fixes other than increased options for leveling to 99?

I played D2 starting in 1.08, and leveled many characters to 99. Hitting 99 wasn’t the point of the game, so hitting 99 wasn’t gatekept by absurd xp penalties. So I’m not seeing the point in adding ‘terror zones’ to make it easier to hit 99 instead of just reverting how xp is gained back to the old system, or like I said above adding a fourth difficulty (former is preferred over latter IMO).

I don’t think I can justify coming back to D2R over ‘terror zones’. I need real changes to make the game fun and enjoyable again. A randomized event that’s mainly beneficial to casters doesn’t particularly entice me–if anything, it makes me less excited.

I’m looking for stacking currency.
I’m looking for a currency tab.
I’m looking for a charm inventory.
I’m looking for balance changes.
I’m looking for a significantly larger shared inventory, even if that requires buying additional tabs for $1 per tab. (Original D2 and D2:LOD had unlimited free accounts you could create, thereby giving you unlimited free mule space; D2R has extremely limited storage, and a limited number of character slots)

We’ll see what Blizzard does with the game in the coming weeks, but thus far I am very much not impressed.
