Letter to all of Blizzard about D2R:
After hours upon hours of Hell summoner and getting no keys I have decided to stop playing D2R and want to give feedback:
1.The Hellfire and Anni End game are RNG locked.
I am extremely depressed because of this - there is no joy in this monotonous grind.
Even if you get a hell fire torch you will likely need to restart keys all over many times to get the charm you need.
This is madness and extremely poor game design.
Getting Nith keys are also impossible because even with max fire resistance I get 1 shot from 1000hp down to zero - making some classes like sorc get an unfair advantage by TP blizzard tricks while Amazon cannot do this and must clear mobs first and THEN get no keys because of RNG Satan.
2.Upgrading to replace Rerolling:
I’ve since realized the Horadric cube is nothing but a gambling simulator with key elements intentionally not implemented such as upgrading magic/rare to unique, rare or magic to white/grey etc.
I have a diadem and 6 perfect skulls - I have collected every gem and skull and upgraded and stored all of them only to see how useless they are in relation to rarity and odds.
All that collecting to be only able to re-roll this Diadem 1 time…
I honestly think the concept of re-rolling should be abolished and should have been replaced with - spending resources like the gems and skulls to permanently upgrade the stats bit by bit on your fave item of choice - with greater upgrades requiring more:
Example on a Javlin:
1 perfect skull increases it from +1 amazon skill to +2 and the cost increases steadily until the cap such as +5 skill etc.
Perfect gems could do the same on charms and cover other things like resistances too.
Those resources could also be used to upgrade a magic to white or magic to rare and rare to a unique.
Charms could also be upgraded using the same systems etc.
3.Item Drops and Vendor Shops don’t match game difficulty:
The drops even in hell are truly horrendous - the game implements a system to always ensure the highest level healing potions but yet you still get level 1 rings most of the time even when killing strong mobs. Drop type should have be Act locked:
With the exception of terrorized zones
Act 1 Hell: Chipped gems and low level gear
Act 2 Hell: Flawed gems
Act 3 Hell: Normal Gems
Act 4 Hell: Flawless Gem
Act 5 Hell: Perfect Gem
Shops should be fixed - I am in hell and regardless of the act I still see Javlins with +1 fire damage as their only mod and other useless mods on them which just shouldn’t be there at that stage of the game - so the result i I just don’t bother to look at the shop wares anymore as that’s like being an adult with the shops all selling children clothes.
4.Teleport and Character Favoritism:
Everyone plays sorc because her TP is free and every other character has the option of an unattainable enigma which is RNG locked or must pay thousands of gold per TP charge making other classes really disadvantaged.
Classes like Necro are the worst of all because they cannot do runs - since their summons do not persist between game sessions and so they must spend a lot of time time re summoning every game session.
5.RNG Balancing:
For reasons unknown blizzard entertainment has not developed modern systems such as RNG balancing that guarantee a key if the player has not received one within a certain number of kills to prevent depressive dry spills for example if a player has not received a key within 10 runs the 11th kill should guarantee a key drop.
They have not implemented drop rate increases upon chaining the same boss either.
I have also experimented with magic find myself and it’s a snake oil scam.
I have also seen even the most dedicated streamers spend 500 runs and get very meh drops even with the best gear and 400% magic find.
- End Notes
The harsh reality that after this long of playing I will never get enigma and will never get an annulus or hell fire torch is soul crushing because I have no control in it and I don’t know how Blizzard did not balance patch this.
Because of this oversight I have decided to stop playing Diablo 2 now.
I do not think Blizzard understands that majority of their player base are adults in their late twenties and thirties and time is very precious. They come to play D2R for joy but are instead further depressed into a trench.
