Day 1 hits... What are you playing?

I may play another character to specifically pay less for better gear and sell sorc gear for higher

i have actually played sorc the least so this time around im starting with this class for a fresh experience, ive beaten hell on every class except this mainly playing paladin or amazon.

never found the class that fun really and in the recent years i have not even touched it. i cant remember if i cleared nightmare or not, but this time im going to give it a real honest go again.

im debating taking a slow go and just take it all in and explore good, in that case i will start with paladin and clear normal before going with sorc

Sorceress for sure starting character if Soloing. If playing with party then be what party would need, as you don’t really need more than 3 sorceresses in party.

Paladin and Sorceress.

Sorc to gear up a Barb.

Barb all the way. Not sure if I want to go Frenzy or Berserk though. I’m playing Conc right now, very safe but just too slow.

I think efficiency is HIGHLY overrated in a game whose goal, for me, is to chill, listen to music, and relax.

I think players who chill/play casual/and dont care about the meta probably shouldn’t be calling things overrated. Nothing wrong with your playstyle but its not exactly how the broader audience approaches the game.

Did someone just go read a wikipage about Diablo II or something?

Find a Spellsteel you noob.

Who the hell waits to find an enigma to use teleport?

The broader audience plays for fun and casually.

I take Magic the Gathering competitively… vast majority of people play for fun and social aspect (as I do to, but I also have a Spike side that plays for competition.). The highly competitive part of every game (top ladder, top ratios, etc.) are a small % of the total player base in terms of numbers but they’re obviously very important to the game itself as those people are usually the ones inventing/tweaking and pushing the game.

Edit: Obviously, I think, no ill will to those who want to chase the leaderboards, etc. in an ARPG… you do you. I just have a hard time, personally, looking at ARPGs and being like “Yep, that is the type of game I want to compete in.” Granted… I understand the idea of it, to some degree, in PvP world compared to PvE land.

Sorceress because my reset team begs me to tele sorc every ladder reset, so it’ll probably be that way with D2R. Also makes the most sense since my buddies are Hdin and BO/Leap/Item barb, the perfect trio to do ubers day 1.

1: Cold Sorc.
2: Hammerdin.
3: Smiter.
4: Summon Necro (Main)

Were:wolf: to 99!

Then maybe after that I will make another werewolf

i wish i had a reset team

You can join mine… but I play classic and there are only so many classic players here :stuck_out_tongue:

Lightning Sorceress 100%

Classic HC start baalruns hell:

Baalrun 01
Everyone standing in town(7x sorc)
Paladin “sorc tele”
silence
everyone leaving

Baalrun 02
Everyone standing in town(6x sorc) Pala and barb
Paladin : “sorc tele!”
silence, everyone scared to teleport
Barb : targeting highest sorc “hey you tele i will bo”
Sorc(BestSorcXX) : “ok :(”
Best sorcXX was slain by burning soul
Paladin “dont worry i will get your items”
Palypal was slain by burning soul
everyone else leaving

Also I remember several games where 3-5 player all died at ancients hell.

Good old times

I remember when Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction had just released. It was so hard to even get to Ball and even harder to kill him and his minions. You needed a solid and varied team working together to do that.

oh hey im just here to reply back to your old post so others can complain about why im replying to old forums posts past 1 minute ago xD im gonna play necromancer all the way as a filthy casual

ladder sc Hydra/orber
dosent need much to farm meph or andy
after that well who knows, maybe rabies druid
