I would agree about the drop rates, and would probably be in favor of an increase (sort of why I joked about people begging to have bots back).

Might also need some other incentive for ladder, other wise people will quickly go back to non-ladder where runes are more accessible (imo).

Where is the issue? D2 isnt a new game at all and we had years of ladders with d2jsp existing. It was never a issue and it will never be a issue in the future. Its just the old game in this forum new (d3) players or players who didnt touch d2 for the last 15 years try to create unnessesary drama.

I would kill the rune market, but uniques would increase in value. Thats a win, right? You could even make runes drop for everyone in game and not affect the economy.

Runewords would be earned by playing the game, not trading. Literally a perfect solution, but its a dramatic change.

It sounds like you dont want to play D2, but other game entirely while having the feeling it is D2.
Try D3 there everything you get is selffound, soulbound utntradeable. That should fit your description perfectly.

This proposal isn’t even close to D3. You would be freely trade uniques, magics, and rares, with only runes/runewords being soulbound. Those would be gated behind playing the game and not banking JSP balance. Literally solves the vast majority of D2’s issues.

The problem will be the fact that ladder players like the grind of getting the GG gear and the fact that every ladder resets the entire economy. With d2jsp being a allowed currency then when a player finds that rune he needs for the new runewords. A D2jsp user can simply buy it for a currency that dosen’t reset with ladder. That’s like allowing non ladder characters on ladder, with there full gear and levels. That would make ladder completely pointless. Blizzard needs to find a way to fix this or ladder will be ruined.

you do not have to use it
you can get everything you need, by just playing the game

i remember like 6-7 years ago when i was first level 99 in east
i had to play 20 hours a day
and did it legit
and you do not have to have perfect gear
i was wearing a spirt sword and sig belt till i was level 97
not everyone is going to do that
but it is about choices and what is important to you
yes i neglected my real life while i did it
but that was the choice i made
