As long as they add P8 to bnet (aka higher difficulty) these amounts wouldnt be a huge deal.

I feel Lawbringer, Death etc could be added to the Scourge line. Scourges are badass but there is no good reason to use one. A scourge shoud have 6 possible sockets for BOTD,

In the OP, Death, Destruction, and Doom runeword bases were expanded to maces to offer more options for pursuing mace mastery as a barb.

I’d love a scourge INFINITY :wink: I could use Spirit, too! Cha ching.

Jewels need a itemization pass; they should probably have small fast cast affix and allow +15 res/40%/15% ias to roll on rare jewels. Few other tweaks!

Ideally, you could get fast cast, +15 res, MF and another roll, like mpk, a single resist or + stat on a Jewel.

This is very easy to do, just mark 1 in the rare column in these lines of the jewelry afix table and it’s ready, but it usually goes against the intention of rares to have a little stronger attributes than rares.

In the most yes the tables of rare items need to be improved as well.

Spirit is +2 skills and Faster Cast. That’s why every caster uses it. Blizzard Sorceress don’t actually need as much faster cast, due to the timer on Blizzard. 10% increased Cold Skill damage adds more damage to a Blizzard Sorceress than +2 skills. So obviously +2 cold skills and 8% damage will add more damage output to a Blizzard Sorceress than Spirit.

Furthermore, and you seem to have missed this, this equipment is not being designed for a Cold caster Sorceress. It’s being designed for a melee character. The fact that it might also be useful for a Blizzard Sorceress is nice, but we don’t actually want to surpass Spirit so overwhelmingly as you propose to do.

Generally agreed. I feel that perfect rares ought to be used as an upper bound on power levels. But uniques ought to provide, well, unique things you can’t get on rares, and that will often make them better than rares.

Sackett, I’m curious what are your thoughts on the proposed changes to rare items below:

  • Rare items should get a minimum of 4 affixes at iLvl 45+, 5 at 65+ and 6 at 85+. Basically, iLvl 85+ rares would roll guaranteed 6 affixes
  • Rare jewels will always roll 4 affixes, instead of spawning with 1-4 affixes
  • Change recipe for re-rolling rare items from 6 P. Skulls to 3 P. Skulls to allow more frequent rolls and allow re-rolling 4x2 rare items

Rares would need ilvl displayed, magic only affixes would need to be moved to rares, new affixes would have to be created/cleaned up.

I commented previously on rare jewels, but they should probably be polished too.

If we make rare stronger, though, the game might literally become too easy. This is actually power creep. Which I think is largely okay, as long as there is a harder game mode introduced alongside.

For the first idea, my only concern is that often I’ll find a rare when playing with a higher level character that I’d like to use on a lower level character. Would this change impact that? My initial thought is that it wouldn’t and would in fact increase the value of low level rares found by higher level players, so I’d tend to support it, but perhaps my understanding is incorrect.

Both the second and third ideas seem reasonable to me.

Why would magic only affixes need to be moved to rares? As is, rares are already usually better than magic items due to the larger number of affixes. I don’t see why you’d need to take away the things that make magic items potential competitors.

How does the above suggestions make rares stronger? From what I can see they do not change the power level of rares, but rather increase the percentage of rare drops that are at the high end of the current power level.

Rather than Attack Speed, I’d probably add AR and ED against Demons in addition to Undead. That would make the gloves much more consistently useful. Perhaps also add some life steal to match the mana steal.

Then give Gravepalm something like -5% Enemy Physical resistance. That would then differentiate those two gloves a bit.

I’d be fine giving these gloves +20% Poison Skill Damage and bumping the required level up to level 40. That would basically make these gloves the gloves of choice for Poison/Plauge Javelin and Rabies builds, while Trang-Oul’s Claws would be the gloves of choice for Poison Nova casters. Seems to me that it would be nice for something other than caster gloves being competitive for poison melee.

I’ve already given my idea for Waterwalk:

While 40% Faster Run Walk would be nice, I tend to think something a little more unique would be good. Additionally, the added stamina is worthless at this level.

On Silkweave I tend to think it is fine as is. Already a useful boot for builds that need more mana.

Hmm, adding Faster Cast is certainly a good option to make this a caster oriented belt, with the lack of +skills making it still inferior to Arachnid’s Mesh. Alternatively adding 10% Increased Attack Speed would also help (leaning more on the 5% Mana steal) by making it more combat focused. I think I would prefer the Faster Cast though. Maybe replace the 5% Mana Steal with +2 Mana After Each Kill?

I particularly like adding the minus Enemy Poison Resistance here.

Certainly, those are valuable additions to a shield. However, I’d suggest something more unique for the shield. At first, I was thinking maybe level 10 Sanctuary aura, but then I thought maybe use Psychic Hammer. Not for the damage, but for the Knockback. How about 100% chance to cast level 20 Psychic Hammer when struck? It’d be useful for something like a Javazon, who wants the enemy to be at range instead of melee. You could use that instead of Faster Block Rate which is more fitting for a buckler than a Tower Shield, but with a similar effect of adding time to recover by knocking the enemy back.

Increase the chance to cast to 15% or so on both spells. Add 5% Chance to Cast level 10 Thunder Storm. (Seems like the Thunder Storm ought to fit Stormchaser perfectly).

I’d make the +2 Masteries and +3 Mace Mastery O-skills. That ought to make this interesting to a Druid Shapeshifter.

Increase the number of charges to at least 12. I’m all for some items having few charges, making you think twice about using them, but 3 charges is just too few.

Instead of adding Magic Resistance, this seems like the perfect item to add minus enemy magic resistance too. -5% Enemy Magic Resistance ought to be pretty well balanced around Blessed Hammer. You’d be giving up +3 Skills, and 40% Faster Cast from Heart of the Oak, which means you’d still be doing more damage with Heart of the Oak, plus you get resistances from it.

I like these changes a lot. I’d also suggest -10% Enemy Fire Resistance.

You’re single handedly carrying this community on something that would revitilze this game ten fold. I almost regret advocating for any other change other than item buffs. This is the biggest update D2R could receive.

If they did this along with stacking gems, that would be golden.

very simple too upgrade all weapon add at least 100%ed for unique weapon get around 300 ed% and is not op vs runeword that are around 385 too 400 ed % eteral dead and botd

and most armor add a crafting recipe of 3 socket on unique armor and let player customize what they need with rune and jewel ,and still runeword armor will be better

First on the list in the OP is to increase base weapon damage across the board, so that is already being proposed. For unique items, I think taking a more tailored approach to buffing (e.g. adding o-skills, affixes, unique abilities, etc.) adds more flavor.

i dont think is good for the simple reason this will dont change or reduce the gap mean unbalance some item already have ,also this will be a huge amount of work to change all base item in the game , i think i sgot much simple solution , just add a % too the underpower item , same with updating Prefixes and Suffixes ,

What is being proposed in OP is simply increasing base weapon damage by 30-40% for a Season and adjust as necessary.
