Every protector stone is bugged. Put it in a helm and the ed doesn’t apply. WTF WAKE UP BLIZZ
Put it in a weapon. Works like a charm.
Charms cannot be inserted into socketed items. You have to keep them in your inventory. Then they work like a charm.
English is not your primary language, right? And prolly not your 2nd either ..
This bug is quietly ruining one of the coolest new item additions in Diablo II: Resurrected.
Right now, if you socket one of these jewels into anything other than a weapon, the % Enhanced Damage modifier does absolutely nothing due to the old legacy ED/min-max damage bug.
That means players are putting extremely valuable jewels into helms, armor, and shields thinking they’re gaining damage, but they are not.
This is especially bad because:
-
Nothing warns the player that the damage from the jewels is bugged
-
Many people only discover it after expensive socketing decisions
-
The jewel is one of the flagship new chase items
The Protector’s Stone Jewel is not just another item. It represents the thrill of discovering something genuinely new in a game many of us have loved for decades. It deserves to function correctly, and players deserve to trust that these exciting new chase items work as advertised.
Please fix this bug, or at least acknowledge it publicly so players can make informed decisions before socketing some of the rarest and most valuable jewels in the game.
Well .. experience does ..
Years ago i put an ED/max dmg jewel into a hat and wondered, why only my total min damage got a boost. Leason learned.
Beside: absolute min/max dmg adds into a non-weapon item are actually a waste of a modifier. Go for higher ED at all cost, you’ll benefit way more from it! For example if you can choose between a ED / min/max dmg jewel and an Ohm rune, go with the rune. That’s experience too.
Not true.
Glass cannon bowazon with faith gains a higher AVERAGE DAMAGE from 15 to max than 40 ed. Because dumping all points into dex = high enhanced damage which increases max damage on items. It’s just math. I have both a 45 120 jdom and a 45 45 jdom. Swaping between the two, the 45/45 has higher average damage (min+max/2) If however your on a barb with max vita it would be reversed.
Now if you run wf on your bowa, the 40ed is better. In both cases it is very close.
Wrong discussion.
Unless that’s 45 ias paired with dmg i don’t care. Building numbers while giving up on speed is not worth it.
What else would you use when it comes to physical bows? Seriously! Even a perfect max Faith GMB - i got one - is garbage compared to a 120 ias WF Strafer. I got both running and my Faith bowie doesn’t hold a candle to WF plus i can only guess how much dmg my WF deals per arrow since LCS shortens dmg into k’s.
Not sure what you’re trying to do here, but the OP is 100% correct. By posting, you are confusing the issue and making it more difficult for game developers to understand the bug that is being reported.
Devs - if you see this, the bug reported here is correct and universal. The ed% on protector stone jewels is completely ignored when used in any item slot besides a weapon
Bumping for developer attention
Yeah, some people speak with out knowing what they are talking about, and are offended when you point that out. Best to let them struggle till they can figure it out on their own.
Speed trumps Numbers. Was it that hard to get?
