Actually I believe it works that way in Many Games And not just Blizzards/Buzzards and whilst I have many issues with what Buzzards done over the last fifteen years thats not one of them[Online ban means Offline ban too](https:// Are cross game bans an acceptable punishment for hacking/cheating in multiplayer games? A lot of servers from Ea/Origin games use PBBans, a tool that allows server admins to ban players and to check if a player is already banned. If a player is banned his PB GUID is added to the Master Ban Index (MBI) and he will will be automatically banned on all servers that use PBBans. (Official EA servers don’t use PBBans). Some games like BF3, BF4 and MOH Warfighter use the same PB GUID. Therefore admins have the option to enable cross game banning. If enabled players are banned in all games that use the same PB GUID. e.g. a player banned in BF3 will be banned in BF4. However the PBGUID is dependent on the Origin account which means that games on another account will not be affected by cross game banning. Not all servers enable cross game banning (I am banned and I still find many servers to play on) and PBBans isn’t in any way affiliated with PunkBuster or EA/Origin. So my questions are: Is this punishment to hard? Is it effective/useful considering that a different account circumvents it Should more games use it? What are alternatives/better methods to punish cheaters/hackers?)
