Hi,
For anyone experiencing this on pc, before opening the game from the bnet launcher you can change your region by clicking the little globe icon above play game.
You can change to the same region as your friend to trade or play together for now.

What a surprise, blizzard yet again puts out something that entirely breaks console, and then goes silent. Silent on immortal transactions, silent on fixes. Silence isn’t the fix, communication and actually testing things before you put them out is the fix.
I think between D2r, and Diablo immortal Blizzard has managed to kill Diablo and make it a meme. Certainly won’t get 4, especially as we already know that’s gonna be a hot mess with microtransactions… Surprise surprise

I recently got a response from a nice technical support specialist, that’s the message:
"Howdy,
I’m Technical Specialist Zeadom! I read here when attempting to play with a friend in Diablo II: Resurrected on the Switch after the most recent patch you are both met with: “You do not meet the level restrictions for this game”
We have seen a handfull of these reports after the patch. If you have the character level restriction off or set low, it could be due to region. For Switch your region to play the game in is based off the registered location of the Switch account iself. Diablo II: Resurrected is a global game region shouldn’t matter but it appears we have a bug if you try to play with someone in a different registered region this error will occur. Our team is already hard at work working to fix this issue as quickly as possible.
As for the realm list not showing the same games, correct right now the realm list will display the best games in your region. This latest patch exanded that ability to see even more games around your region. If you two are in different regions though it’s unlikely you would see the same exact list as the server displays best performing connection first then outwards as covered by our news article on this patch: Diablo II: Resurrected Patch 2.4.3. | Now Live — Diablo II: Resurrected — Blizzard News I don’t think that will technically be fixed for players who are in different regions but they are looking into some wonkyness with how fast it’s updating and some times it doesn’t display all the games this should be resolved some time this week.
I hope I was able to help clarify what is going on for you today! Overall I couldn’t resolve these issues directly but I could update you that they are known bugs and the fix will be sooner than later. I don’t have an exact ETA but we expect by the end of next week. (That is always subject to change but it shows it’s a top priority for our team to get this resolved quickly.)
Until then sadly you won’t be able to play directly with your friend as we have no workaround to fix this until the bug is fixed. Thank you!"

Same issue here, can’t even join each other’s private games anymore. Very frustrating, what a waste of the 50% mf this weekend since the only person I play with regularly lives over seas

My friend had the same issue. We fixed it: change your server to another and then reconnect. then go back to your main server; that helped us.

only pc client can change region with click of few button, not for consoles.

Im from canada and couldnt play with my boyfriend from the uk … i ended up changing my location on my xbox to uk and it worked.

Of cos it works cause now you are at the same region.
There wasnt any regional lock before this patch, it should be how it is before to ease trade and play with friends from other region

The solution of changing the region in the console settings does not work on switch by the way.

It is such an annoying thing. Blizzard basically killed complete trading on consoles due you never know if the other person can join the game. I really hope, that they are fixing it because a lot of people already claimed to stop playing to due that - D2 without trading makes no sense at all

it wouldn’t kill the Blues to actually do some work and comment in the forums…as usual, they ignore us console players but pander to PC players. Go figure.

I’ve been getting this issue since the new update and unable to play with friends or trade with other traders around the world. It seemed to of sorted it self out yesterday and was able to join a friends game in the states (im in uk). Tried to do the same today and im getting the stupid error again! Blizzard must really hate playstation because everyone i speak to says they can still join pc, switch and xbox without any issues.

Wow, finally I found somenthing “official” about blizzard saying that this is indeed an issue, after several days searching… It really would be less painfull to live with it if they at least answered any of these posts complaining about it… Hope it gets fixed soon and not on the next ladder season…
