An in game auction house, similar to JSP, but as Blizzard’s own proprietary version of JSP is what is probably needed.
I don’t really care about bots personally as I don’t chase the ladders and D2 has always been filled with em. Bots actually help casual players as there’s more supply for desirable stuff.
I do despise pickits though and that’s why I haven’t played D2R ladder yet and really want game creation options to allow personal loot. That or let players set the difficulty of the game on creation, ala the players command.
This D2R team really doesn’t seem capable of fixing this stuff though or even recognizing the scope of the issue.
-Activision tried to make an AH in D3. It fell to money problems, duped items, and market rigging. But sure they should put one in D2. Or maybe instead they should just use the completely fair market JSP created.
-They had issues with the real money portion of the D3 market too. People were messing with the AH and basically stealing from users. But sure let’s buy blizzards version instead of the time trusted JSP version.
-There is no real “team” for D2R. There are 5 people working on updates and doing QoL changes. There isn’t the man power to stop cheaters. Not only that, but it is the least efficient way to stop them. They could create a program that flags bot-like actions and then send it to review like in overwatch for CSGO and then finally double checked by someone at Activision, but they’ll never use resources on that.
-Adding a report on ladder will fall to people mass reporting someone just because they’re higher level than them. You’d have no way of knowing for sure that someone on the ladder ranking is indeed cheating. Mrllama would get reported 1000’s of times for no reason.
-You think people bringing in past currency is the reason you can’t keep up on ladder. It really isn’t. It is simply because you’re bad at the game. Even still why would people buy a blizzard currency that disappears eventually?
Yes let’s trust blizzard to create what JSP already has. Meanwhile so far their fixes for PvP, chat channels, game lists, character balance have gone so great already. ![]()
If you’re talking about bot flagging it would actually be quite easy. You could simply create a program that tracks the precision and how similar movements or whatever. Not an automatic ban, but it would just say hey this behavior is a bit too good, then review it. But they would never really invest in enough people to view those flagged reports.
But that’s even more reason why we need the auction house because it allows Blizzard to keep the money from the game they f****** created
And JSP enables bots. In fact they sell them if you know who to talk to. So the fact of the matter is JSP is not against bots so it’s blizzard’s making a little bit extra money so investing somebody to personally investigate, especially during the start of the ladder
And then when the bandwaves hit for the bots It will increase the productivity of play and the market of items.
Those that like to troll and talk down against the idea are either lazy and just want the bots to farm gear for them or they are looking to profit from the market itself bye using bots
Bro you’re really worried about a billion dollar company’s wallet? Not only that but a predatory one like Activision who has routinely bought out smaller companies to kill their IPs and steadily releases trash games that are buggy and incomplete because they now have no competition?
JSP does not enable bots. JSP also does not sell bots. JSP has even gone as far as warning/banning users who talk about bots. You’re talking straight nonsense.
Sure ban waves might help the market a little bit for you, but I doubt it since you couldn’t capitalize on the value of your items unless you’re good a trading. Which because you’re not on JSP, you’re simply not good at trading.
I’m no botter, have benefitted off of buying some botted gears that other players probably used bots for. Meanwhile you have NO clue if all your gear was legit found by a real player. Every trade you make could be botted gear.
JSP isn’t what lets a player win ladder - the biggest army of obedient followers is what lets a player win ladder.
Also, if ladder is about restarting fresh, and complaints are about people being able to obtain items more easily than others ( who CHOOSE not to use certain trading platforms ) then why would there be a starting advantage provided to the winner of the prior season?
JSP’s easy to trade on platform and the common currency available for use is what lets people win ladder. The time wasted spent trying to trade in game leaves you so far behind by the time you do anything. You’re wasting around in a P1 game hoping that out of the few people that can see your game, one needs your item, and two has what you want. Meanwhile the JSP player already did their trade and has been farming for HOURS if we’re talking about trading for a pricey or hard to make/find item. Building an infinity from scratch with no paid FG and no FG reserve from last season might take just under an hour of trading, meanwhile the same thing in game would take you many hours probably 20+.
You worry so much about JSP because their players are better than you. Meanwhile you don’t worry about the RMT sites, Bots, or being able to trade NL items for ladder items all of which can give people a much larger start at the beginning of ladder and throughout everything.
Meanwhile most of JSP users don’t have an excess of wealth, started with no season advantage of past currency, don’t bot, but they all have better geared characters, more character, and have played the game more than you because they traded quickly and efficiently on that site. So, instead of looking for an excuse as to why you’re behind in ladder, perhaps just join the only D2R AH that is worth anything and get good.
I 100% Agree with you on what you said.
on a side note everyone wants 40+ HRs by week 2! - Once new season drops, like the last one, If you found LO or above X2 they auto assume, RMT/JSP Delusion.
There is a post about the drop rates or never finding a HR on this forum like 10 times a week. They’re all so convinced that everyone is RMT/Botting and it is because of JSP. Meanwhile they refuse to learn about why they suck at MFing, something JSP has forums that can teach you about how to use your time and be more efficient. But since that site is cursed, they keep on using their wealth armor 4 months into ladder wondering why they can’t complete a single MF run in under 30 minutes.
I say ban their ips but that would cut deep for their fiscal year end reviews, according to their stock holders.
