Yeah, while the current ammo requirement is thematically “authentic”, it doesn’t mean it’s actually enjoyable. It isn’t. Having to constantly hunt for those obnoxious drops is dumb and is truly an archaic mechanic. It’s why WoW got rid of that “flavor” in its very first expansion. It’s why Path of Exile never used that mechanic at all. Nor did any of the Torchlight games. Or any other game outside of Breath of the Wild with its durability system (which players absolutely hated).
When “flavor” is nothing more than tedium, then the mechanic was never a good one to begin with.
