One of the biggest draws of the game are the loot drops. Trying to collect one of everything is the holy grail. Just let us do it already! Give us bigger stash!!
“I’m a grumpy-old-storage-space-miser! Young kids and their need to collect everything these days!”
-David Brevik via Twitter/X
i’m going to repeat myself AS WELL here.
if you want the stash, you pay with cash.
That’s ridiculous. Just give us the stash space, it’s dumb not to.
says you… “it’s dumb not to” my dood, they already have issues with peoples items dissapearing when their stashes have too much stuff in it. but sure, you know everything, it’s super easy.
i can already see 3 posts in you’re not worth talking to.
GOOD FOR YOU!
D2 and LoD had infinite stash since you could create as many accounts as you wanted to with paying once. So in this regard D2R is a real step backwards.
Yes. Blizzard’s implementation sucks. Just like it did with graphics. 20 years ago, spamming firewall or other graphically intense spells was a massive burden on the game / your graphics card. But that was because the implementation was bad. The graphics were thoroughly outdated even before the game shipped.
It’s dumb to hoard, you have to make decision what to keep and what not, thats part of the game.
However that tweet from 2021 says it all
I really wish people would stop trumpeting this as a valid reason…
The original Battle.net debuted December 31, 1996. Diablo 2 was released in 2000, with LoD following in 2001… They didn’t anticipate hoarders/RMT botters creating dozens of accounts to hoard all of their pixels. To create a Battle.net account with their previous games, all you needed was the game and a valid email address. Up until Diablo 2, creating multiple accounts provided no realistic advantage. The advantage of creating multiple accounts with Diablo 2 is an obvious oversight on Blizzards part, and limiting account creation would have likely involved reworking Battle.net AND reworking all of their games that connect to it. Their only choice was to roll with it, along with imposing a 90 day character expiration for inactivity.
Since accounts in D2:R are tied to a Battle.net account instead of the other way around, it’s plainly obvious they wanted to plug that loophole that players were exploiting to get more storage space.
You didnt even need a valid e-mail adress to create accounts. I know this because i just used something like hzvsjkzbdjwudbdb@hotmail.com, which resulted in me not being able to retrieve my passwords after years break
Well if you wanted to recover your account due to a forgotten password, you needed a valid email address.
I wish i was wiser as an 7 year Old.
At the very least, they could give unlimited (or a very high number of) stash tabs for offline. Having to navigate through a massive amount of mules is annoying, and you can already mule as much as you want.
Though I would temper any expectations for the game. It’s most likely not updated anymore.
That will come if it hasn’t already with mods.
what makes you think that?
I think/fear there won’t be any real patches coming any more.
Because the original game was hacked through and through… So will eventually be the case with D2:R.
I’m not talking anything official from Blizzard.
you see, you can have more stash space, IF you pay for it. that’s how it works right now, they aren’t changing the game. y’all been begging for this for 3+ years. it’s not happening. SHUT UP already. y’all are insufferable.
You’ve gotten your grail. You wanted to quit. So do it already, including these forums, hm?!
Oh boy. For a game whose endgame is itamz-collection… . After they had done a predecessor… .
So if you had 20 mule accounts you log into all these accounts and prevent every single char from beeing deleted?
Also how can you have a overview on every item? Do you make a excel sheet to keep all your items in order?
You will spend more time organizing all these mules than actually playing. Then, on the other hand you have people who cry that ingame trading is “time consuming”…
If you want to do a holygrail you can still make a checklist and there also websites where you can record all the items you found.
There is absolutely no point in keeping every item.
Even tho we been able to make as many accounts as we wanted, it was never intended to abuse this. It also was a huge effort to keep all the chars and perm them.
Yes this is exactly what people did. And it wasn’t even a necessary for them to make that restriction really.
That is because it is.
I agree, but then again I still don’t think having unlimited space would be an issue either.
First, it simply wasn’t abuse by any means, that was just how bnet worked back then. Second that was over 2 decades ago, and there was no limit on how many mules you could have. Back then I had 100’s of mules, but that was MOSTLY due to anni farming, not just to store a ton of junk. Regardless it is crazy that I had so many characters and yet somehow blizzard didn’t crumble to the ground.
Not really perming mules was easy especially if you had any sense. And remembering to check those mules every 2 or 2.5 months really isn’t that much of a chore.
