Well, is it that easy? Dont blizzard also ban for language and so on? But in general and in OPs case yes.
A full license ban for language takes a lot of work. Blizzard tends to use an approach that encourages people to learn from mistakes. While they CAN ban totally for a first offense if it is bad enough, the normal path is something like this.
- Blizzard responds to reports of language violations. If a GM finds the account did violate the rules, they start (usually) by applying a Silence which restricts social features. That starts at 24 hours and doubles each time the account gets a Silence after that.
- Enough Silences, or an egregious enough violation, can result in a Suspension.
- Full account closure can happen if a person continues to violate the rules and/or they do something really terrible.
The game ratings only cover what Devs produce. Player chat and names are subject to the Code of Conduct instead.
The advice is to remember that any public space in Blizzard games should be treated like you would a town square during a family festival with widely mixed population. People of all ages and backgrounds play games and all Blizzard games are subject to the same family friendly rules.
The Forum Code of Conduct has the best details on it all.
