I got the refund. I know that my computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, but I was sorta kinda hoping that I could just play in Legacy mode. Nope, no deal. I didn’t even know this “failed to initiate graphics device” issue even existed.
What’s worse is that my computer is kinda jacked up since installing D2:R. My mouse highlights a whole word when clicking on a single space. When clicking and dragging multiple selections, it only highlights the bottom selection. Maybe that’s just coincidence, but I have my doubts.
Oh well, this is 2021 ATVI Blizzard South after all and I should have seen this coming, right? Blizzard North and THE Diablo IP Franchise died a long, long time ago.

El problema que estoy teniendo yo es q cuando creo una partida on line queda cargando un rato y luego se cierra automaticamente el juego. no me esta pasando al hacerlo local ahi entra lo mas bien. puede ser que sea sobre este tema que estan hablando?
Not necessarily. I feel cheated but. During Beta I read the Beta was on “the most stable engine” “not our final engine.” I did not connect the dots that that meant, fundamental minimum requirement changes and clearly the marketing team did not either.
what if avx is actually the thing causing all the problems on the game now

You have a different problem then the rest of us.
I can see the splash screen, music, cursor, but black screen and then crash, no error messages.
Is this whats happening to you guys? Dang man, I am so lost now…

After 3 days of waiting and watching this issue, I’ve finally just submitted my support ticket.
I have provided all the required MSinfo and DXdiag showing that I meet all minimum requirements as well as a screenshot of my capabilities of running both AVX & AVX2.
Have they provided any answers or updates as to why this is still happening? Or we’re just sitting in the dark…(?)

I agree the real launch starts with ladder. Not sure why everyone is freaking out over everyone else get levels and drops… its not like the drops are going to dry up and I’m just seeing more Power leveling options. More Baal games to join, more chant games to get going quickly.
I think hope and patience will result in a fix.

Blizzard can chew rocks. Their customer service is a joke. Rigs with CPUs that do support AVX and AVX2 are still having issues with game crashes on launch. So what’s the reasoning behind that? The fact of the matter is that, once again, developers have released a game that is clearly no where near ready to be release because they dont give a damn about their customers, they just care about making quick money. I have been waiting 4 days for someone to respond to my ticket. I played this game fine at launch, now all of a sudden it doesn’t make it past “Connecting to Battle.Net” without crashing. GGNext.

hopefully blizzard starts the first ladder season before they fix this so i can really resist ever buying anything thing from them ever again.
