MY disappointment is immeasurable and my day… nay, my week is ruined.
Thanks for the update
Got a really nice reply from Blizzards today. Thanks for that!
“In the past few days, we’ve gotten a ton of reports about this. It looks like you probably have already seen the thread, so I’ll cut this short for you.”
“Basically, it seems like some computers which have older CPUs like yours can’t launch the game right now. While technically below the system requirements from an architecture standpoint, your CPU is powerful enough to run the game if we make some tweaks. We think we can fix this for you in a future patch. We’ve traced this back to the way the game works with CPUs and/or motherboards that are missing AVX support, and thanks to the reports of players like you, we’ve got developers working on it as we speak.”
“Unfortunately there’s no ETA on a fix yet, but ASAP is indeed how we want to work on this. Thanks again for helping us diagnose the issue in the thread, and being patient while we work on a fix.”
Эта ошибка возникает из-за того что процессор не поддерживает AVX или что то с видеокартой?
9/30 14:40:31.272 [Render/4] [<>:0]: NVSDK_NGX_D3D12_Init failed, error code: -1160773631
What information did you provide, what we in here didnt ? o_o
I feel like the most simple think a community guy could do when there is no ETA on a fix, is to give us an ETA when we should expect to get the next update on how it is going.
So far it has been a guessing game, where we a several people randomly checking forum if “maybe there’s a new blue post regarding the issue now”.
They just keep us in the dark. No ETA on fixes and no ETA on when we will hear more, is truely frustating.
I created a basic support ticket with dxdiag and msinfo and screenshots. I guess many here have done the same. Maybe I just got lucky with a decent Tech Specialist handling my ticket.
No need to do that because we figured out the issue ourselves in this thread a day after release. Some people arrived later though and had no idea why their game wasn’t working
Dear Drakuloth,
I obviously do not speak for anyone but myself but I believe the cause of hostility is that the communication regarding what is supported and what isn’t has been rather ambiguous on Blizzard’s part. Here the minimum system requirements merely lists two CPUs, and it absolutely does not go into any details that in what sense is this a “minimum”. Is it in terms of performance? My older and non-AVX CPU is much more powerful. In terms of age and generation? As far as I know there are newer CPUs that do not support AVX.
Hell, as far as I know there are CPUs newer than the minimum generation with stronger specs that still do not support AVX. Are those “blow the minimum specs” too?
My problem is that by the Sept 27 update the tone of communication shifted from (paraphrasing here, obviously) “sure, it’s an unintended behaviour, we’ll fix it asap” to “well, you don’t meet our minimum sysreqs anyhow but still we are nice enough to bother with your problem”.
I am pretty sure this is some corporate legalspeak to avoid liability or whatever but it doesn’t execuse the fact that I still don’t know whether my configuration is “supported” or not and someone whose CPU doesn’t support AVX but is newer than the ones in the sysreqs probably knows even less.
Case in point I have refunded the game even though I wanted to play it, because I don’t want to risk this never being fixed at all or getting fixed but then something else breaking later on again to which the answer might be “well your CPU isn’t supported”. Not gonna put my money on a corporations “goodwill” sorry.
I recommend never giving them your hard earned money again.
For two days now whenever I hover over the “PLAY” button in the client it reads “You can’t play Diablo II: Resurrected yet.”
I cannot press the button either.
The Game is up to date.
I did a repair.
The Battlenet Forums won’t let me post there because it says there “You must own Diablo II: Resurrected to post on this forum.” … Not sure what to say about that (I’ve been playing the game, I bought it, it is in my possession, so maybe, just maybe let me post here under Technical???)
So here I am not being able to play for two days now. I’ve tried everything I can.
Anyone have a solution? I paid 40 Euros POOF out of the window.
Took several days (no doubt Support overwhelmed with tickets) but my refund which went to my Blizzard Balance will be refunded to my PayPal account.
I am despondent that I’ve had to do this.
The change from the Beta test to the Live version being unplayable due to the AVX issues is unbelievable for a company of such magnitude as Blizzard.
The communication and gaslighting regarding this issue is awful and I would echo everything posted by others regarding this situation.
None of this is directed at Drakuloth who I hope can update us tomorrow with good news.
I think the biggest concern customers have is the lack of accountability. We don’t know who to go to other than the individuals who have responded. Drakuloth has done well keeping us informed on his end. Perhaps pezradar has as well.
This could have been handled better. I hope to see things turn around, it’s not too late. Everybody is upset because they can’t play a game they love.
Hopefully they give some kind of compensation to those affected by this mistake. Obviously nothing monetary, but some kind of in game “sorry for your troubles” gesture. Maybe a couple of items for lost time.
I think it would be funny to have a #AVX tattoo on my necro.
People need to keep in mind that whilst they claim they’re looking into it as a priority, it doesn’t mean they’ll fix it as one.
The top and bottom of it is that if a proposed change for this issue to resolve it for say 1% of players, which would be generous, has an adverse effect on the 99% then they’ll abandon it.
It won’t be long before your suggested refunds become forced on you.
I hope the patch does not arrive on blizcom day. because people will crush them with direct criticism and they lose fame. also credibility. the issue is that with this people look for options in other companies. let’s hope they are not alone in diablo 4
Realistically, the support given in this matter is typical of Blizzard Activision. Re releasing old games that dont work. Never offer refunds. I have an expensive PC and this OLD GAME doesnt work.
Even cod doesnt work, MY PC exceeds minimum specifications.
Im so tired of BNET passing the buck. I open a support ticket, they change it to resolved and they dont answer the question. Frankly their support was always useless, except when WOW first launched.
Cant wait for their stock to crash hard at blizzcon
I have a laptop that it “Works” on but still crashes at random times
I truly don’t know how difficult it is to program a game to run on so much different hardware, but I do think it’s crazy that Overwatch works beautifully on my computer, but I can’t open this reskined 20 year old game on my computer. I’m really sad.
Yeah, especially since the Original Diablo II LOD still works fine LOL
i hope everyone thinks of diablo 4 and question them with the actual requirements before buying it
Это AVX, и нас у всех тоже самое.
