AVX Issues / Game Launches, then Crashes on Older Processors (CPU)

Not sure how complex this really is, but in theory they could add a “PTR build” to our Battlet-Net apps dropdown list for D2R, where affected people could select it and install a PTR client, which then is using the build that has the AVX issue (potentially) fixed. This way we could support Blizzard’s QA testing with our plenty of legacy CPUs / Machines while the unaffected playerbase just stays with the normal/live client and is unaffected.

I assume with cloud computing these days, and I believe I read somewhere blizzard uses AWS for their games, it should be no rocket science to add a new build release to their virtual machine AMI portfolio and push it out for interested users via Bnet app.

As much as i get your idea, i don’t find that a very good solution tbh. We only had access to half of the Game (and as far as i know from other act 2 had quite some issues in Beta as well)… to revert it on an unoptimized state only so we can play as well. We don’t need more mess than we already have.

But like i said i get you, the Situation is still frustrating (possible for me a bit less then you guys, because i can atleast enjoy it on console…)

Refunded again. I’ll wait till people have confirmed they can actually launch the game before repurchasing this time. Glad they didn’t own up to anything and blamed us, the consumers, who pay their company to exist.

"your motherboard doesn't have the support for this despite your CPU having this support."

so you may have CPU with AVX but your motherboard could be without it same time ???
as i understand you have to have both with AVX to make it works with D2Refunded ?

So you’re actually admitting to lying to us on release day when it was “oh it was all a mistake that slipped past in the release build”? Screw us i guess, Just gonna refund this and move on.

Put in my refund before this update, and am glad I did. Like how they put that out right at the end of the day so they can go home right after.

Every single person here should get a refund if possible. If you will buy it again immediately, so be it. Take as much money back as possible for now till it’s fixed.

Absolute shame. And instead of saying sorry they throw the responsibility to our heads. Pathetic

Get your money back while they still have it.
/facepalm

Thank you for your consistent pace to come in here and share news.
now if you ever catch the lead dev or engineer , could you please tell him to go and do all the nice stuff to himself ?
its like you make a cut at human race age >60ish … think about that

cheers, and again, thank you for your help!

How the hell is this not pinned?

Well here it is, refund time. It’s been fun ladies and gents. Have fun for those that wait it out.

Reclassifying minimum specs is the kind of no no that does lead to the court room. This has now gone directly I to the fringes of fraud.

Refunded after that blue post

bad Game development, agreed, BUT Legit

There’s no place in their minimum requirements that it specify the need of AVX. My CPU and GPU are probably considered “old” but i benchmarked them and they are better than their minimum requirement.

Refund was completed automatically.

No waiting for ticket.

Purchase later if they fix.

Called it. We’re almost there.

Yea … that specific line saying non avx CPUs are below minimum specs is CLEARLY the first official company attempt to divest of culpability. I dno… D2 old-school fans are kinda hardcore… Feels like they picking the wrong kind of fight with their MOST loyal customer sect

I’m not gonna build a whole new computer right this minute just for D2 remake. Not with Alder Lake coming out in a month or two. I’m out.

Like what they did to jim carreys character in the “fun with dick and jane” remake
