Seriously guys you must understand(I’m not deffending them) that on release you have:
Hundred of thousand players ready to play
People who even asked for day off work/school to play
People who will play all over the weekend for 12 up to 18 hours a day
Time zones doesn’t matter for many people these first days after release
unexpected issues
Servers from almost no load to be overwhelmed instantly.
No company will spend resources on adding more servers just for a few days/weeks after release when after the hype goes everything will come back to normality.
Probably there are even more factors I’m missing.
I know and it’s frustrating because It’s not fair this player screening during the launch, but it is the perfect excuse(an AVX issue) for them to have thousand players out of servers during the first days, because they ensure that players with newer pc will have less problems so they have time to fix the unexpected errors and then have a relatively smooth weekend. Next week when the initial storm is finished, they’ll have a week for the upcoming problems that players with older pc could bring from monday.
People complain about their incompetence at worst, but they are not going home crying because of that, they know that on monday we will forget everything once the patch is released and many people who rage refunded, will rebuy once everything is working. Some may not insta rebuy, but with time they will do it, and even if they don’t the profit for having streamers playing all over the weekend without problems and selling their product is bigger.

That’s a nice analysis, you think that in monday the number of players will have already decreased after first week end that low pc players with no AVX will get a patch to play monday?
Blizzard you forgot to put an instant refund button when the error pops up. Imagine companies giving a product and when they ask for money you tell them to be patient, you re working on it :))))

supposedly l Monday there is a patch, it will probably be Tuesday but even with that who says that the patch will really work … the truth is that I have little faith left but hopefully everything is fine … I don’t care when everyone goes flying xD that it works for me is enough, after everything we are going through … less bad that at least we chatted here and we vent … a greeting
same error as everyone else it seems. pretty garbage that it works for some and not others though. looks like it might be tied to a driver/specific graphics cards though. i’m using a 1050ti, 20gb ram, i7 cpu and well over 200gb storage space available. here’s hoping it gets done by sunday or earlier though
Yeah, I think so, most of us played the beta with no problem at all, the only problem we had was the servers getting overwhelm by loads of players specially during the open beta.
So, why suddenly this AVX thing pops up in the release? It does not make sense to change the launcher adding the AVX request to play now.
From Blizzard they try to tell us that this problem is hard to fix, but that is even harder to believe when you consider the huge changes they had to make since the beta we all played.
I honestly think this will be fixed on Monday as I expect since I already bet yesterday on Reddit we wouln’t play this weekend after the first day reading those blue posts.
yep, we will see but i feel like you got a nice point. If you right that’s not honest from blizzard but well as you said once we will be able to play the game we will for get… Real D2 players play it without hype…=)
I don’t know my friend, but ladder is another factor I was missing… Why do you think they decided to avoid ladder at release?
Imagine hordes of players during ladder at release having missing characters, servers going down, not able to play or whatever… they knew what was going to happen during release… I mean they are a billionarie company, they have tons of info about their player base to know and expect what’s going to happen. Getting the appearance of being incompetent is the least harmful to them.
I think ladder won’t have as many problems because as I said, after some weeks the waters will return to their course regarding servers traffic.
I was expecting to play at release, but after open beta and considering the huge hype I knew we would have many problems with servers, what I didn’t expect is this AVX thing… but hey, you can’t say that they don’t innovate, lol.
exactly, i also expected some Server Issues ( like in the good old WoW Patch-Days… ) but this here is a hole ohter Issue. The last time a had a PC Game not starting up was 1000 Years ago with my Windows 95 pc. Even with a old crapy System you should at least be able to start the Game
i tryed alpha stress test AOE 4 and after installing the game i got the error message that AVX isntructions are not in charge with my CPU. I think for D2R that’s strange that we have crash report only going to the event observer from w10 to see error 1000 and 1005. they can’t really show an error message if it’s about AVX and as the beta doesn’t required AVX right ? xD that’s maybie the “why” it worked with older cpu as well during BETA
