NO that changes the drop rate of any single game that i go to so that it can never ever be like LOD ever again. ITs not the same.
Now they even took it another step further and claim that they raised drop rates.
So they raised the drop rates of certain areas in game which also
UNDENIABLE CHANGES ANY CALCULATION TO A DROP RATE WHEN YOU TRY TO COMPARE TO LOD… Its not even close. What did they do ? double the amount of monsters ? that completely negates the old calculations for LOD

Developer Comments: We felt that certain optional areas in Diablo II often get ignored on Hell difficulty, so we decided to increase their monster levels to add more incentives with risk vs reward gameplay. We hope this provides more reasons to find loot in these areas.
