the whole blizzard app thing is getting annoying for wow to cause its really buggy but d4 works perfect.
been playing d2r on steam deck for 6 months no issues
Just install the battle net launcher and you are good to go
why even post at all if your not going to answer a question? or are you guys just fishing for posts?
I think that they will release diablo 2 with a new ladder and content on steam just to sale again and receive good reviews, after that the game will be on maintenance mode, hots and d2r should be the next games to arrive on steam.
i can GAURANTEE that isn’t happening. d2:r is done.
Yeah i dint really see reason to release d2r on steam. Both OW and D4 were released there because they had problens with player count and interest from existing player base.
D2R is loved by community and releasing to steam would not really achiev anything i think.
Some people CBA to have multiple launchers or otherwise refuse to use the Bnet launcher, there’s probably a non-insignificant amount of people that would buy D2R if it were on Steam.
I think there’s a chance it’ll come sometime in 2024, I wouldn’t expect any content updates with it though if it did re: Santoro’s post.
I run d2r on steam deck,
I just added the blizzard launcher as a steam game, added some artwork where it was blank… works just like a steam game.
Works the same for steam app in windows.
Yeah op somehow missed this answer from everybody
Question here, as I am thinking on switching from PC to console after 30 years (I am really not sure about it). The Steam Deck sounds like a nice option in between. But can I still play together with my PC friends or are there limitations? How are the F1-F12 keys replaced on the Steam Deck, as I am furiously using them with most chars. How is the switch of weapon slots realized? How is giving drinks to merc realized (he would die too much otherwise)? Cannot find videos for that for the Steam deck.
Long answer here, but hopefully it covers all the nitty gritty!
On steam deck, you will be playing amongst the PC crowds, since it plays the Pc version of the game.
If you’re playing in handheld mode, it plays just like if you plugged an Xbox controller into your computer,
The whole UI switches to controller mode.
(You could attempt to play with the trackpads, and remap the controller buttons to the F1-12 keys, but controller mode is there and works way better)
If you click the trackpad or open the virtual keyboard and press a key, diablo 2 will swap the UI over to the keyboard and mouse mode.
If you’re used to playing with a keyboard and mouse, you can dock the steam deck and play it on a tv or monitor, and hook up a KB/M just like a computer and play that way.
Weapon swap in controller mode:
click the right thumbstick
Feed potion to merc in controller mode:
Hold left trigger and press desired potion button. 4 potion slots are assigned to the D-pad by default
BONUS: if you already own diablo 2 for Pc you can download it and play for free on steam deck, whereas a Nintendo switch would force you to buy their port of the game.
I would rebuy on steam anyway, regardless of being able to add the bnet launcher.
Just Resurrecting this thread to close the loop lol
It’s out on Steam and Verified for Steam Deck!
