When using the Act 3 Mercenary (Cold Variant) monsters will sometimes go into a state where instead of dying their Life Points will remain at 1% and will no longer be able to be targeted for attacks. The monster will follow and track and sometimes if its within range it will attempt to attack. Most of the time they are harmless where they will just follow or the attacks deal no damge, but sometimes they are able to deal damage.
Its difficult to determine if its the Act 3 Mercenary that is the source of the bug, but it seems to only happen when im using it and most (not all) of the bugged monsters tend to have the blue chilled effect on them the entire time.
Was playing as a Summon Defiler / Bind Demon - Warlock when these instances occurred. No further testing done.

Did a few tests with other Act Mercenaries for comparison. No issues with Act 1 (Fire Variant) and Act 2 Merc, bug appears again immediately upon using Act 3 merc. Uploaded to Youtube - time stamps in the description.
It’s not a3 mercenary bug it’s just a problem with your connection to the battlenet. Don’t get me on the “it’s not possible i’m on optic fiber” train and you’ll flood me with how much download or upload is.. it’s a matter of ping jitter and a total amount of lost packets between Your PC and battlenet servers.. 99,9% of the time it’s neither blizz’s your or your ISP fault just some random internet knots inbetween that are at fault, and usually there’s little to do about it as neither blizz nor your ISP can do jack about it..
You might be partially correct, there is some jitteriness during gameplay, but the specific issue i mentioned previously seems to only occur when the Act 3 Merc (Cold Variant) is being used. Act 1 and 2 mercenary seem to have no issues so far. I uploaded a video documenting the bug and attached it to the original post, there it shows 40 mins of gameplay with no issues using act 1-2 Merc, and then immediately upon using the Act 3 merc the bug happens.
If it is my connection how do i get it to behave around the Act 3 merc the same way it does around the Act 1 and 2 merc? And why is my connection Act-Merc Specific?
well there are some unintended mechanics with certain warlock skills that seem to do what you describe above.. they are listed under bugfixes for Season 14 patch a.k.a patch 3.2, something in the warlock arsenal is ocasionally keeping mobs alive when they should be dead.. perhaps it’s this what You’re talking about.. Personally as far as Lock is concerned for me it’s Mirrired Blades, Levitation Mastery Hex Purge for buff to ias Tabel, Demonic Mastery Blood Oath Bind Demon, plus few points into defiler. Demon is just my fana and cursed stat stick ( i tend to prefer Uber Izzy unique Pit Lords doe to immunities life pool, and the ease of amp dmg application, merc is also aura stat stick and up’ed+ OHMed buriza does so much damage that launching bolt volley insta kills all monsters that are under defiler debuff. fana + Hex Purge and roughly 100% Ias from Loh + buriza, let me reach top ias breakpoint for mirrored blades. 5 bolt 100% chance to pierce with hex purge explosions and defiler damage spread on top makes this an undeniable resonating combo that 1 shots trash and elites alike, only act bosses require a couple more shots to go down mainly due to single target nature of act bosses.
I have seen this behavior too in RoTW a few times and i can tell it’s not based on your IronWolf.
I encountered this bug ONLY with my Echoing Strike warlock who had an Act 1 Rogue at the time. I’m quite sure it only happend when my Echoing Strike just glanced the monster and the Cold damage part i had put the monster in limbo. Later on after a weapon swap plus adding more / other elemental damage it did not happen anymore.
