A Good Take on Personal Loot & Loud Purists

I don’t like this change - for SP I think it’s great they have added all ladder runewords, but non-ladder should not have them :frowning:

I’m happy they changed it to widescreen, since most people today do have that available.
I’m against the ultrawide or super ultrawide they allowed in the alpha, but luckily this was changed in the beta. (ugly fix tho’)

New items is not a core change to functionality?

I like the idea to have more room for storing items - not bigger inventory to be able to pick up more items on the go, or a charm only inventory to again add more inventory space to pick up.
But having a bigger stash is great (I would like to see 3 characters stash tabs and just 1 shared for muling gear).
Again - bigger stash is not a core functionality, and just saves up characters slots to be used for playing them, instead of just pure mules.

I like the social aspect, but I don’t like toxic people. Being able to kick toxic players from a game, would hopefully teach the toxic players a lesson = less toxic people online.

Expanding on more PVP is great for stuff. I really like how open world pvp works today - but adding more features to this, will make it possible for even more fun.

Nerfing spirit, which is such a cheap runeword for OP endgame item would be nice.
I would like that the game became even harder than it is today - but I don’t see this being changed.

Arena should be an addition to how open world pvp works today.

So I’m up for new stuff and changes - but NOT for core stuff like loot, since again, that is 90% of what this game is.
I’m also very much against cheating like duping or botting, so I hope that is something Blizzard would be able to keep to a minimum, so we can enjoy legit play and stable economies for trading.

Those links you posted, is just 1 comment for each thing. So not something I’m fighting to change - but ideas that I like.
But this ploot nonsense I fight against, because it would hurt the game and economy a lot.

How dare you.

seven chars.

Dbrunski plays only singleplayer with plugy right?

Gating ladder behind all the changes sounds like horrible idea, how about the people that want to play ladder but dont want crazy changes? They stuck playing NL then?

Tbh, if state of this forum, after they announced that ploot is not happening, can be used as reference in any way, shape, or form, then exact opposite will happen.

i like him as a person but im not a fan of his streams or videos…

i HATE videos with the name: STRONGEST MELEE BUILD…blabla that crap came out one week after announcement from the remaster.

Typical.
Streamers that play mostly on single player with modded version of D2 dictates what changes should come to online play.

Blizzard should really open up modding for D2R, we’d be done with half of this nonsense.

all in all a fair video…

new people who have come from D3-P&E . what we been saying all the time

im surprised by your confidence in Blizzard to rebalance this game and not mess it up.

OK plooter.

This.

I’m surprised at anyone’s optimism towards blizzard at this point. I swore off the co totally and promised myself this is the last thing I’ll get from them after years of them ruining their best titles, and only got it cause VV.

Community pressure for additions they think/feel they need = bad.
Smell-i-vision giving into the community = bad.

Bleh.

It IS the loud minority. Especially on Blizzard forums where most purists reside. Non purists dont post here because they would not buy D2R without changes, and you have to buy the actual game to even post here.

And polls across different platforms (not just Reddit) show over 70% of people want changes. You 30% are screaming and throwing a tantrum and he’s absolutely correct.

Dude, how would separate realms hurt you? You minority purists would be able to play the game exactly like you screaming babies want, with no changes.

Yes the player base would be divided but the “better” realm would win in the end, and remaining people will flock to the better realm. If you guys are so adamant that changes will ruin the game, wouldn’t you be comfortable having the two realms compete? Or is that insecurity I’m hearing from within you realizing that the implemented changes will be popular and will be a superior gameplay?

Fact is; you can’t quantify the fanbase off of the forums, reddit, YouTube comment section, etc.

And if you want to play the percentage game, go for it. I won’t play that game for the simple fact that we don’t actually know how large the fanbase is.

All I know is what I want and how I feel and that’s what I say in my comments. I don’t try to play the hurrdurr team purist this and hurrdurr team changeist that.

Just like politics, I’m not strictly in one camp or the other and to say so is inaccurate and a misrepresention of my ideas as they’re thrown in a box; that box being opposite of your team, which I couldn’t care less about.

My point is, in my response on this thread, is someone claiming majority this or minority that is a joke of a claim. I can pull from reddit and get one bias, forums for another. YouTube comments of one streamer vs another will also be different.

And this game is 20yrs old. Anyone IIIIIIIIII personally know who played D2 OG, pre LoD, doesn’t f with the internet forums or reddit so they’re not even accounted for.

And as I said in another thread, the questionnaire sent out in the beta was also worded poorly so for someone like me, answering it was a PitA because depending on how you read certain questions, my answers would change.

But again, I’m not “on your team” so writing this is likely pointless cause you put me on the other “team” unfairly.

Yeah but I want changes and I’ve been called a purist numerous times.

A change could be as simple as a change in font, everyone is assuming from these vague polls that a majority wants drastic gameplay changes, which doesn’t seem to be the case.

Reddit polls, so reliable :joy:

It’s like asking D3 audience along side with people who almost never played non-modded D2 to participate in D2R remaster.

Im glad the game is almost here and in it’s awsome state.

A lot of people were interested and bought this game because it is a remaster. It seems a lot of people who want big changes are trying to avoid accepting this.

The game was never advertised as a remake. Any major change will bother a lot of people because it was never advertised or marketed this way.

Yet again you failed.
I am open to changes as soon as they don’t change the gameplay. QoL are nice and i am open to some (i don’t ask for them because i am happy with what already paid but if they come later, great)
Ploot and other nonsense like consensual pvp that are being “suggested” affects the gameplay. And those are not QoL changes.

If you advocate you so much for a change that always was intended to work as FFA you shouldn’t play. There are tons of games that have those options. This game wasn’t made to please everyone. Is not for you
it doesn’t need another realm. it doesn’t need ploot.

i want changes. i been called a purist.

he also say. the players who wants new things, come from D3 and P&E.
so obv the D2 players knows better then the non D2 players.
so they NEW players, are the loud once. they not D2 players.

Exactly the people wanting CORE changes never really played D2. QOL changes are fine.

But loot is 95% of end game. You can’t just change it.

But ploot is a free pickit. I see that crowd being the ones to cheat and utilize it even tho they are hiding behind that as a reason for ploot.

its good to hear that even the king of casuals debrunski himself is anti Ploot.
