Website links shared by friends or by myself to friends in chat of the Battle.net Desktop Client App are being censored to **. Cursing does not get censored, only website links do.
It started on its own, I had not changed any settings. This issue happens only in the Battle.net Client App and not inside any Blizzard game.
I have reset Friends & Chat settings to default. That did not fix the issue. I have toggled “Filter mature language from chat” and ”Display images and videos when posted as links to chat” on and off several times.
I have deleted Battle.net Cache Folders as per instructions by GM tickets and forum/support posts; %ProgramData%, %APPDATA%, %LOCALAPPDATA% and %TEMP%
Including uninstall through Windows Program and Features, restarting PC and reinstalling Battle.net Desktop Client App.
A GM has confirmed that Parental Controls are disabled.
Websites are still being censored in Chat through the Battle.net Desktop Client App.
I’m also having this issue. Any friend of mine in Australia and myself seem to have links censored. However If I send a link to someone outside Australia they can see the link even if appears censored to me.
No idea why its happening but defs is a location issue, anyone who sends a link to a person located in AU and vice versa instantly gets asterisk’d from my experiences. Been happening for a month or so on my end, assumed it was just a bnet bug but its gone so long now I find it crazy no fix has been made.
Same, started about a month ago or so. Then I got fed up and submitted a ticket which eventually lead to forum posts.
Desktop App Bug Report, Customer Support and finally to Desktop App Tech Support. As instructed by GMs through tickets.
Another Australian here, was trying to link my bro a youtube video in battle.net and it is coming up as censored with a *. I wonder if it has anything to do with our age restrictions we got going on? either way it sure is annoying -_-
