Temp vpn restriction?

I do not represent the company, in fact, I’m forbidden to. And as I explained above, I’m also not an employee, so I can do nothing when it comes to this problem.

As I also explained above, technical support has nothing to do with development and the support forums are not for feedback, such as what you posted here. Feedback, suggestions, criticism, etc belong in the Discussion forums. Providing it in the support forums is in vain as it will not be seen by those who collect and consider it.

Basically, you could have opened a line of communication between GunsenRoses and the support department but you didn’t? Awww, dude, that’s cold. Just messing around. HAHAHAHA.
Everyone’s out here arguing semantics when they should be pointing folks in the right direction and sharing information. ( That is NOT aimed at you Leviathan, clearly you’re trying to do that )
To be completely honest tho, I had no idea that route even existed and somehow I doubt any of the other players with a ban/suspension realize that route exists. I ended up figuring out my issue from everyone else’s posts and just accepted my 2 weeks for forgetting to turn on my work VPN like a dum dum and although some players get their panties in a bunch it seems like maybe there should be a little more thoughtfulness on both sides, wouldn’t you agree?

Now… as an expert forum moderator and tech support guru, can you see GunsenRoses’s registered email? Is there a way you could get him that link? I’m sure you would make his day. You might even bring that poor soul back to the dark side where he belongs muwahahahahahaha…HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH…BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!

Sorry, I may have gotten a little carried away there. Anywho just a thought or two. Thanks for the all info Leviathan, maybe I’ll contact support and beg them to forgive my stupidity otherwise I only 13 days of suspension to go! I’ll probably be seeing you around the forums!

I knew I shouldn’t stop in and check on this thread. Dam you Leviathan, quit being so helpful. We’ll use that link and try to appeal the ban. Thank you for the support. I know Guns and I were probably quite abrasive yesterday. It’s the loss of the brand new unpermed characters holding all of our high runes and end game equipment that really got us worked up. I apologize if we came off as rude or unruly.

Also, KilHuma. Thank you for those kind words. Which server do you play on? If we beat the odds and manage to get unbanned I’m sure we’d love to play some D2 with you.

This is not a productive discussion and Leviathan has given you all of the information I possibly could have and more. While I understand you’d have liked a different resolution to this, I’m going to reiterate the previous points and provide a bit more insight. After that point, I’m locking this thread as you have been given all possible avenues for your various requests and feedback and instead chosen to keep interacting here in Technical Support where nobody can help you with them.

  • The restrictions last for exactly 14 days, down to the second, from the moment of the restriction.
  • Customer Support does not remove these restrictions for any reason, as they are intended.
  • Further information on how to circumvent these restrictions and avoid them can be found here.

Finally, we are aware that these VPN suspensions are not an optimal solution by any means, but this is a necessary protection for the servers. Our anticheat technology is severely limited by this old implementation of battle.net, and adding VPN suspensions is one of the few ways we’ve managed to keep the servers relatively stable with some of the other modifications made over the years.

More permanent resolutions are under investigation, but we have no ETA on when or if they will occur. You are free to post in #diablo-ii-general-discussion if you have further feedback, but that’s all the info I have for you two.
