I have an issue about seeing my one specific friend offline while other friends see him online, he also didn’t set his status to “appear offline”, he appear to me that he’s offline for 7 hour that mean this bug happenned recently, sometime he see me offline even though I ddidn’t change my status ( I play ovwewatch on steam and I check my friendlist through the mobile phone battlenet)
I’ve run into this exact same issue before, and it’s honestly a frustrating puzzle to try and solve.
Since you mention playing Overwatch via Steam but checking your friends list on the Battle.net mobile app, the desync is almost certainly being caused by cross-platform linking. Steam, the Battle.net desktop client, and the mobile app don’t always communicate their status updates smoothly in real time.
A few things that usually help break the bug:

Both you and your friend should try completely logging out of the Battle.net mobile app, clearing its cache, and logging back in.

In Steam, make sure your Steam profile status isn’t set to “Invisible” or “Offline,” as this can sometimes bleed into integrated games like Overwatch and mess up your Blizzard status.

Try removing and re-adding each other directly through the Battle.net client rather than in-game.
