Scanning game files

Hi friends!

I hadn’t played WoW in a few weeks so when I came back, the Battle.net app just does “Scanning game files…” over and over again. After restarting my computer, I did what the knowledge base article suggested and deleted the *.idx files from the Data/data folder, but the same thing is happening. As much as I’d like to avoid doing so, do I need to uninstall and reinstall WoW? Or what else would work?

You could also try deleting the WTF, Interface and Cache folders which can sometimes cause issues due to corrupted files. Background programs like security software may also be blocking the repair/update, so make sure the Blizzrad app and WoW are allowed as exceptions.
