Hi!
I have questions about Blizzard Developer API Terms Of Use

I don’t fully understand what it means for me.
Let me explain what I want to do with the API and please let me know if it violates this agreement

The idea:
There is a website that is called “wowhead”
It contains very useful data that I want to use in my private project (a journal about my characters adventure from her point of view using AI)
but wowhead doesn’t have any api and it tries to prevent website parsing

so I need another data resource. moreover I’ve found that I’m not the only one who needs this

I came to an idea to create an open lua database of quests, items, npcs (texts, stats, rewards, etc) on github or something.
so everyone will be able to use the data for their purpose.

to collect the data I have 2 options:

  1. create an addon that will collect data using open in-game lua functions. but it’s difficult to review and maintain data from other users. like wrong data injections
  2. use API and scan everything every WoW patch

The questions:

  1. Can I use API to collect such data using automation tools (aka You May Not Data Mine Blizzard Products Or Services)?
  2. Can I post the data to open resources like github (aka You May Not Integrate The Data Into A Physical Product)?

there is a tendency for such messages to go unanswered. technical support also sends me to the forum. so I can use the api however I want? :sweat_smile:
