Overwatch 1 cosmetic items transfer to Overwatch 2 on PC

I played overwatch on console years ago (before battle.net) and earned a lot of cosmetic items. I recently got a pc and downloaded overwatch 2. I have never made a battle.net account so I created one and linked my account to steam. Then I loaded up overwatch 2 on console to see if my cosmetic items transferred and nothing was there. I linked the xbox account to my battle.net account but did not merge the two yet.

Is there a way to get my overwatch 1 skins onto my new overwatch 2 account or am I out of luck because I never played overwatch 1 when battle.net was a thing.
