I am unable to get WoW Classic on my wife’s battle.net app. She has a mac book pro running High Sierra. The option for WoW Classic does not show. From what I’ve read it means the battle.net app is not up-to-date and I should reinstall the app. I have done so and used the download from your website however I am still uncertain it is the updated app patch as no “version” option is present. How can I verify this so we can play together? Thanks.

Version information for the app will be listed under Blizzard > Settings > About.
Another thing to consider is account status. If she does not have any games listed under “Game Accounts” on this page, please have her try creating a starter account for World of Warcraft.
Keep in mind a subscription is required to play Classic. One subscription will cover both Classic and Retail.
