Hello! I have an account for World Of Warcraft that dates back to 2006 up until whenever Mists Of Panderia was released that is not currently active. Last summer, I created a brand new account for a fresh start in the release of WoW Classic. I have recently decided to begin playing Shadowlands but would like to also play The Burning Crusade Classic too, but do not wish to pay two separate subscription fees every month and had been told I could merge accounts somehow, but have failed to find any direct link to a page that allows me to do this. Is this feature possible and where might I find it? I opened several tickets but have yet to hear back from Blizzard.
No, you can’t do that. The “merge” feature takes a license that was created before Battlenet accounts existed and moves it onto your Battlenet account. A Bnet account can have up to 8 WoW licenses. Each license would still need a subscription to play.
So, you could get your other license moved to your most recent Battlenet account - but all the mounts, pets, transmogs, achievements, heirlooms, etc are Bnet account bound and would stay behind.
Again though, that would not help you with your subscription costs. Each WoW license needs to be paid for separately. You can’t mush them together. All you can do is use the paid character transfer service to move a character from one license to the other.
Blizzard letting you merge subs and save money?..what universe are you living in…they would monetize their mothers if they got a decent price…gone are the days when blizzard was a reasonable company that was fair and cared about their customers …what they are really good at is swiping credit cards
This is a 4 year old thread but the restriction on the accounts has existed since the start of WoW. Each Battlenet license need to have its own sub. They have increased the number of chars you can have on a single license to help reduce the need for second licenses for alts. They have also made many things Battlenet Account bound so they are shared between licenses. They even made it so that you can fund your game time with gold now.
Despite those things being more consumer friendly, they still do require each sub to be paid for. They have for 20 years now.
