Kosovo Not Listed – A Serious Access Issue

Hello Blizzard team,

I’m writing this post out of deep frustration and disappointment. I am a paying player from the Republic of Kosovo, and I am unable to verify my account or access key features (such as SMS protection and region-based services) simply because Kosovo is not listed as a supported country on Battle.net.

Your support team told me to set my region to Serbia, which is both technically impossible and deeply disrespectful:

  1. Kosovo uses the official +383 dialing code, assigned by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). I cannot verify a Serbian number because I don’t have one.

  2. Telling me to identify my account under a country I’m not from, especially considering our history, is not just inconvenient—it’s hurtful and insensitive.

  3. Kosovo is recognized by over 100 countries, including the United States (where Blizzard is headquartered), most of the EU, and international bodies like the IMF, World Bank, UEFA, and more.

  4. Technically, it creates a barrier to entry for Kosovar players. We can’t use SMS protect. We can’t verify our accounts. We’re blocked from fair access.

We love your games. We support your platform. But we deserve to be recognized and supported just like every other gamer. Please don’t force us to choose incorrect regions or stop playing entirely.

I kindly urge Blizzard to:

• Add Kosovo as an official country option on Battle.net

• Allow use of +383 phone numbers for verification and security

• Show respect to your players in the Balkans who only want fair and equal access

Thank you for listening. I hope this gets escalated and acted on, not ignored.

– Getoar
