Just would like to understand

Hey Apoc,

I checked on this for you and it looks like, for some reason Battle.net is not detecting a valid Lord of Destruction CD key for your game install. It’s coming up as an invalid or bad CD key, which is applying a new 2 week restriction. The original Diablo 2 CD key however looks fine and it is detecting that properly.

Lets try this:

  1. Uninstall Diablo II and LOD completely
  2. Press Windows key + R to open the Run window
  3. In the box type regedit and press Ok
  4. In the registry editor navigate to the location:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment
  5. Right-click on the Diablo II folder and select Delete
  6. Reinstall Diablo II, then LOD, using the digital installers
    Downloads – Blizzard Entertainment

Make sure to use the 26-digit CD keys for D2 and LOD that should be found in your Games list in the Battle.net Account Management.

That should clear it up for you, however I’m afraid you will have to wait the 2 weeks again before you can try logging in. If you want to reply back here once the reinstall is done I can try and confirm if the system is picking up both CD keys properly.
