One can’t chat to tech support, one can’t call… and WEBtickets have at least 3 months dead… been trying to ask why they want to charge me to buy the old wc2 battle net edition( not the remastered) when i already have it >D.
Jeeze. That’s just shameful.
There is no Tech Support anymore. Microsoft ended all of that in 2024.
Phone lines were closed over a decade ago. They used to have Live Chat and phone callback for some billing and account issues, but that no longer exists.
That is not really something CS can answer though. They don’t make the decisions on what Blizzard supports or does not support.
Google does provide me some info for you.
It appears your older game key can not be claimed and used through modern Battlenet. WHY, I don’t know.
Common Problems
* How do I install Warcraft II?
- Where can I find the installation for Warcraft: Humans & Orcs?
Some older game keys cannot be claimed via Battle.net. Customer Support is unable to swap these keys for the current Battle.net versions of the game or refund the purchase. If you have a Classic box version of the game with the physical CD, you can try installing directly from the disk. If you are unable to install directly from the disk, you can purchase the current version of the game through the Battle.net Shop.
HOWEVER there is hope if you use it with the GOG version! There is also some additional info on why you can’t claim the old key. Read this thread.
Note: MVPs are other players, not Blizzard staff. MVPs do not speak for, or represent, Blizzard.

I can not delete posts or do anything else on the forums. MVPs are other players. We can only provide information and point to resources. Nothing else. No powers, no contact with Devs, no ability to see your account, nothing. I have the same power you have. I just get to be moldy looking while doing it (green text).
