Hi Blizz Devs. I cant Log in to my D2 account. Stuck on "Checking Versions..."

After installing with a new CD Key I got from a friend. I wasnt able to log into Battle.Net. Its been like this for days now. I just want to play D2 online :frowning:
Any help is appreciated. Am I banned? If so, how long will it last?
