I’m unable to connect to BN through my home internet.
Error on the BN desktop app:
BLZBNTBGS80000011 (2)
I have tested extensively and found:
• I can successfully log into my Blizzard account through a web browser.
• The BNdesktop app will NOT log in over my home internet.
• The BN mobile app will NOT log in over my home Wi-Fi.
• If I turn Wi-Fi off on my phone and use 5G, the BN mobile app logs in successfully.
• I connected my PC to my phone’s 5G hotspot, and the BN desktop app successfully logged in.
• Therefore, BN
works on both my phone and PC when using cellular data, but fails when using my home internet.
• I restarted my home router, but the problem remains.
• I have already completely uninstalled and reinstalled the BN desktop app, including removing its remaining files.
• My Windows date/time has also been synchronized.
This appears to be a connectivity/routing issue between my home internet connection and
Could you please chec whether there is a known issue affecting BN
connectivity or authentication from certain ISPs/networks?
Error code: BLZBNTBGS80000011 (2)
If you have AT&T, they have a routing issue. Solution will come from them.
Can you give more information about the routing issue so when we reach out to AT&T we can give them specifics?
I am in central east FL and have att fiber. I was able to play allll day yesterday (9/6) and even up to 4am today (9/7) and now cannot log in on either computer or laptops.. Mobile app i am in, but cannot on laptops or desktops.. Money wasted on gametime too (I was also unable to play majority of the day 09/05 too for the same thing).. Contacted att support who then said they dont know when it will be fixed and to contact blizzard for compensation :((
I am in eastern central FL and have ATT Fiber. Same issue. Was playing yesterday just fine. Now can’t log in to the battlenet desktop loader or game. can log into the battlenet website though to access my account. Have a call in with ATT customer service now and waiting on their callback in over an hour. Ugh. Was really looking forward to playing today on my day off! What do I tell ATT Customer Service is happening? Can Blizzard not reach out to ATT about this issue and resolve with them since its impacting so many of their customers??
I have also had issues today with either getting booted off the server or unable to connect to BN. My home, and work computer are connected and my phone. just not able to connect to BN
They can see it happening within their network, so it’s not on you to provide that info. You can simply say :“I can’t reach services that are online for players not using AT&T.”
Blizzard is not AT&T’s customer. If you pay AT&T for service and can’t connect to any particular site, you have the grounds to request a resolution.
I believe my issue was tied to this. AT&T just left my house after replacing the router and cleaning all fiber ends. They said it was my Ethernet card… Using their website for speed tests, I was failing or getting very minimal download/upload speeds. And of course Blizzard, instead of assisting me, sent me here. Here is what I did last weekend because I did not have access to Battle.net using AT&T…
Good evening, Game Master Tyastynu,
Yes, I was having an issue logging into Battle.net.
-
On a PC NOT LAPTOP. (that NASA would drool over), I was not getting the handshake from my Blizzard account/authenticator. Something wasn’t speaking.
-
I flushed my DNS (ipconfig /flushdns. Still no.
-
Deleted my game files: .battle.net, _classic_, Data. Then had to “scan and repair” using the Battle.net application… Still no.
-
Started searching online. Found a Reddit article that said if you have AT&T Fiber and you walk away from your keyboard and your game logs out, Battle.net will freak out. ???
a. Turn off computer.
b. Then unplug AT&T router.
c. Plug in the router and turn on the computer once the router gives a white light. Still NO.

What about my Blizzard Application on my phone? I had to download it because my authenticator from the 2010 Blizzcon finally died. IT would not log on either? Wait. The Reddit article said it was the crappy AT&T Fiber Internet. So on my Verizon Samsung S22 Ultra, turn off the WiFi connection to the AT&T crap… I was able to log into Battle.net using the application on my phone. Sadly, using my phone as a 5G “Mobile Hotspot” cannot run my PC.
Whatever the issue was. It was between AT&T and Battle.net. Do not walk away from your computer for an extended time without logging out of Battle.net first, or for the next five hours you will be playing a different game. And the “Troubleshooting Game” sucks when you’re not getting paid to do it. I do not know what happened to resolve the issue.
