This issue just started for me today too. I tried everything the support page says, including removing WoW and now it won’t reinstall either. It keeps saying to update it, but its not even installed anymore. I’m not quite sure what else to do. HotS updated perfectly fine, but retail and classic WoW’s are being silly.

I’m also having this issue but for Call of Duty: Vanguard. Pretty frustrating, I’ve run through all the options theyve listed to try and fix it and no luck, I finally broke down and created a ticket. I have no tried uninstalling and then reinstalling battle.net, is that really a suggested solution? I’m pretty close to just uninstalling and reinstalling CoD Vanguard at this point lol.

Nope, PC user here. Post must be at least 20 char.

Same for me now happened an hour ago, anyone that has fixed it and can tell me how to do it? Kind regards

I got a response on my ticket, gave me a couple other decent ideas, I’ll post it here, unfortunately I’m not allowed to post the links they included with their response. In the end nothing worked and I’m now in the process of re-installing the game.

Thank you for your patience while we looked into your issue for you. Tech Specialist here. I checked out your situation and I’m pretty sure I see what’s going on here. Usually in situations where the client can’t repair itself like this and gets stuck repairing, it’s because the client is so broken that the repair tool simply can’t fix it. Before we get too deep into this, note that we’re just the platform provider for Call of Duty. We can help you get your install issue fixed up, but if it’s having any other issues like connectivity or crashing, make sure to reach out to activision for help with those.

There are a couple things that we can try to fix this first, but if they fail a reinstall is usually the ultimate solution. First up, we COULD just be running into a Windows account permission problem. Even if you’re on an administrator account, the registry of your account can sometimes get messed up by things like viruses, security programs, or even just a bad windows update. Let’s try creating a new admin and trying there. If it works on the new admin, it means the old account is broken. Easy fix - just move your files over and delete the old account.

It could also be network caches. If your network hardware has the files you’re trying to download cached, it may just need to be cleared out. To fix this, unplug your modem/router for about 10 minutes and restart your PC. (With Windows’ new “fast boot” option, a shutdown does not completely clear your RAM. Make sure you restart the PC, not shut down.) Go grab a snack or something, come back, and then plug this all back in. This clears all your network caches and should resolve anything caused by your network hardware getting overloaded.

We could also be running into a situation where your Windows Defender is actually blocking the update. Some of Windows Defender’s security updates don’t always download automatically. To test this, log into the new admin we talked about earlier, then manually run windows update, even if it says you’re up to date. If you see any security or definitions updates, install those, then re test things!

Finally, if all else fails, we want to try reinstalling the game itself. I try to avoid this until the last step if possible, because I know a reinstall can take a bit, but in some cases it’s necessary if game data gets super damaged. If the data is so damaged that the client can’t auto repair it, sometimes all we can do is nuke it and rebuild it from scratch.

Between all this you should be in better shape. If not, let’s get newly created system files:

And a winMTR test to the patch servers:

For the winMTR, use this for your “Host” instead of the IP for the article. Run it for about 5-10 minutes while having install errors."

If you attach these, we can use them to look for more options. ^^

I sincerely hope that this experience with Blizzard Entertainment has been helpful and informative! If you need help with anything else, please feel free to reach out and let us know.

Tried everything except reinstalling, nothing helped. Did reinstalling help you ? thank you for sharing.

Yup, Uninstalling and reinstalling worked for me.

Not for me. Im getting the same freaking error without having the game. xD
edit:
I actually reset the blizzard app settings to default and finally managed to get the rid of the error.Im downloading the game now (80 gigas aprox) so i will check tomorrow if this thing is back to normal…

Sadly, the uninstall and re install was the only thing that worked for me

Don’t worry guys, soon Microsoft will own Activision and Blizzard, and they will hopefully fix the launcher or just switch to something else entirely. Lol!

Cant launch warzone! Cant launch vanguard ! THIS IS NOT ACTIVISION PROBLEM THIS IS BLIZZARD APP PROBLEM IM SICK OF THIS ITS BEEN 2 MONTHS NOW I HAD TO USE VANGUARD TO LAUNCH WARZONE AND THEN GO TO DIRECTORY FILE AND USE THE .EXE TO LAUNCH WARZONE PROPERLY IM SICK OF THIS I REINSTALLED EVERYTHING FOR THIS PROBLEM NONE FIXED IT !!! Now VANGUARD IS STUCK ON BLACK SCREEN I CAN HEAR THE SOUND BUT NOTHING TO SEE STEP UP YOUR GAME BLIZZARD AND ACTIVISION !
