So as everyone that has ever played diablo is aware, maphack is and always was one of the main things people used, and got banned for.
Why not make it fair play? Blizzard could make it so that once you beat the game on hell mode, you could unlock maphack, or they could make it a paid subscription or a one time purchase so that maps are unlocked.
The revenue it would bring in would be possibly even higher than their game sales.
Who wouldn’t pay 5 bucks a month to always have the map revealed?
p2w? no thanks. The map is a classic feature.
Once you’ve beaten the game, what else are you really doing? Just grinding gear. Why not level the playing field between people that will hack regardless of if its legal or not.
There will be bots. There will be hacks. There will be exploits.
At least a maphack thats legal could help a legit player keep up with the ones that will turn on a bot all night.
