Just bought D2 Classic and D2 LOD. Downloaded the installer, open the installer, Click Play Diablo (Odd because I thought it should say Install Diablo), Installed blinks like its progressing and does nothing. About 30 seconds later I get a troubleshooting window from Windows.
I’ve tried Admin, disabling antivirus, trying all the different OS compatibilities, and still nothing.
I have to be missing something somewhere. Please help.

If the installer instantly showed a Play Diablo button instead of Install, this may indicate that you had a previous Diablo II install on that system that wasn’t fully removed. I would recommend to try manually uninstalling and clearing out any old installs using these steps:
- Make sure that Diablo II and LOD are not showing up as installed inside the Settings → Apps list in Windows, or Control Panel Add/Remove Programs.
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run window
- In the box type regedit and press Ok
- In the registry editor navigate to the location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment
- Right-click on the Diablo II folder and select Delete
- Reinstall Diablo II, then LOD, using the digital installers
