I have not been able to play D2R since i bought it due to the long inital loading of the game and from portals. I have counted up to 30 before it is finished loading. My char is dead before the the game is even finished loading. Completely unplayable even though i have an i5 core with 8 gb ram.
You would be best off posting on the Diablo 2 R tech support forum. This forum you are on right now is for the Desktop launcher application.

I will say for best performance you need an SSD for a hard drive and D2R should be on it. That greatly impacts loading time.
