For weeks now I have not been able to play online. Always getting a message saying couldn’t connect and to try again. Really hope I didn’t waste my money buying this game again.

This is a feedback forum for the game launcher. It sounds like you need technical support for D2. Since D2 is considered a Classic game, you want to either post in the Classic Games Tech Support forum, or submit a technical support ticket.
