I’ve gotten an email this morning telling me my account is silenced for the upcoming couple of months.
I believe that is because, yesterday, in the guild chat, I participated in jokes that are considered to be offensive and even illegal in some countries nowadays.
I did not know 1) it was forbidden in guild chat amongst people who also participated and laughed 2) the sentence would be this sudden and this harsh.
Being silenced, I cannot talk in-game. I can’t participate in dungeons. I can’t group. I basically cannot do anything that makes WoW fun and engaging.
This is a first for me. Hence my question to people who have already gotten through this experience: do I stand a chance to get this decision cancelled? I opened a ticket apologizing, explaining what I just explained to you, and of course, promising to never do it again. Now that I am aware of it, I would not do it again.
So I guess my question to you all is : do I give up right now and just create a new account, pay again for the subscription and start from level 1? Or in your experience, does Blizzard show mercy for the first timers?
